Your argument makes no sense. We're not hiring him to be head coach.

Monken learned under Gundy, UGA will look essentially like Oklahoma State teams from the early 2010s on offense.

Is he a man? Is he 40? Will he hide under a table rather than promote his team for a championship shot?

It's Southern Miss, dude. Of course the schedule isn't strong.

I'm not going to hold a couple losing seasons while recovering from 0-12 against him. It's progress.

You're trying so hard to convince yourself that UGA's not going to whip that AU arse again next year.

Gotta think he comes on board with the understanding of finding a compromise point.

Good hire - shows Kirby is serious about doing what needs to be done to move forward.

ding, ding, ding!!! You are correct, sir!

Monken is a very good offensive coach but the BIGGEST development here is it signals Kirby is adapting and willing to let an offensive mind run the offense and open it up.

Large Percentage of UGA fans and many of you other SEC guys that watch Georgia as a rival were skeptical of Kirby willing to let go of the reigns a little on dictating offensive scheme.

TODAY with this hire - we have a breakthrough - MONKEN not coming here to run a Kirby/Coley/Chaney style offense.

If that’s the case then why are fans saying he should’ve done more with the weapons he had in Cleveland?

Cause they're dumb, I'd guess

Congrats UGA! He's a good hire, especially when you are as loaded at RB as UGA is

Georgia assistant coach James Coley, who called offensive plays this past season, is expected to move into a new role.

Thanks.

Also, not directed at you, but, not sure why I was downvoted for asking an honest question...

Looks like a pretty good hire by the Dawgs.

And you are all trying very hard to convince yourself that he will solve all your problems on Offense. Doesn't UGA return two starters from last year ?

5 from the bowl game, not including 2 senior OL who started other games or Dominick blaylock.

Nah, just that it will finally update our offense into the 21st century.

Full time starters? Yeah, but we have other that have multiple starts last year and we've recruited well enough that there won't be as big a drop off as years past.

AU's still going to get that arse whipped either way.

Hiring Monken and bringing in Newman is an absolute positive for UGA and there’s no way to deny it without being an uniformed homer.

With both, Kirby has directly addressed the issues that plagued the offense. Will it work? Obviously we won’t know until September but it’s a positive change where positive change was needed. This is a win for the Dawgs.

Barners throwing cold water on the hire. Why? It may be a good hire or it may be a bad hire, right now no one knows. I don't know anything about the guy.

I do like the idea of hiring guys with NFL experience and guys that have been coaching at various colleges. Every year is a building block of knowledge in a guy's perspective. If you are not learning you are backing up.

We started Mays and Salyer on the OL for Thomas and Wilson.

Anybody else that missed the game missed it for injury or academics; only 2 chose to skip the game.
