Was 10 years old when this happened. Was my first season of really following Gamecock football and understanding it. Had always been told to hate Clemson and this sealed it. Was an obvious offensive pass interference and the catch put Clemson in FG position in which they hit the game-winning FG as time expired. I still remember the announcers talking about how they had called an offensive pass interference on us earlier in the game and they were surprised this wasn't called.

Yeah, Andre Goodman, who is working for us now in Player Development after a decade in the NFL, still talks about that play where Rodney Gardner pushed-off to win the game. It was a SEC ref that did it to us too - that's what made it so bad.

What was the name of that ref? I know he got death threats (and he should have because it was so blantant) ... was it Mike Washington? I know he was banned from doing games in Columbia for about a decade until just last year or maybe the year before. In that one game he called offensive pass interference against Jermale Kelly when the Clemson DB fell down untouched, and then later he made that no-call against Gardner on Goodman. Then when he came back for the first time a couple of years ago he made some really bad calls, one I remember against DL Moore. He also made the pseudo-safety call against us at Ole Miss one year. Mike Washington also made the phantom holding call against us at Georgia that nullified the Troy Williamson TD that cost us the game.

I think Mike Washington played ball for The Bear along with Jay Vines and a few other refs and line judges that have really bad reputations. But hell, let's admit it, they are all bad ref and LJs in the SEC.

I feel Auburn is very good at jimmy rustlin. Not only to opponents, but we tend to rustle our own jimmies quite a bit too.

Example: Jay Jacobs still has a job.

Watching Oklahoma get shite stomped in the MNC game against USC after the '04 season. We should have been in that game.

ETA - I made reservations in South Beach and had to cancel them.

I still can't help but laugh at the cigar game. My dad and his friend were at the game and happened to have cigars on them. They had the unique experience of getting to light them up after the game with the players on the field.

It still amazes him that LSU fans found out about it. It's not like there were any LSU fans left in the stadium by the end of the game to witness it.

Stevan Ridley being called out of bounds at the end of the '09 Arkansas-LSU game when he was clearly still in bounds.

That ties directly back in to the '09 game against LSU that I'm talking about as well. Ridley being called out of bounds made us depend on Alex Tejada in OT.
