Alright now, this guy is a little under the radar right now, but he impressed the heck out of me last weekend. I don't like Mizzou. Never have. But this is somebody to watch. Yeah, I realize he was at Ole Miss.

Anyway, through 2 games, I would love for Mateer to have these stats:

36/48 for 544 yards (75% completion rate)
7 TD passes
0 interceptions

I know, it's just 2 games and 1 was a cupcake. But this dude is going to be something else if he continues on this track.

Your QB is so bad you're starting threads about other teams QB.

Thank you. Looks good so far, we're happy to have him. Good thing we're not in the SEC.

Under the radar? Depends on who you ask. He was the OM starting qb last year before getting hurt.

I knew he had an elite arm, there is no denying that! There was some concern from the few games he played at Ole Miss about decision making/forcing throws, right? So far have not seen that - let's hope that continues as the competition ramps up (and it is going to ramp up several notches in a few weeks).

Mizzou hasn’t had an above average QB for a while. Hoping Simmons is the guy.

He is interesting, for sure and certain.

He was good enough to beat out Trinidad at Ole Miss for the starting job before getting hurt. I think the sky is the limit on him.

He had one drive in the 24’ Ole Miss v UGA game where he came in a scored a TD when Dart got hurt. He made an unreal amount of money on that one drive. He came in as starter last year and was shaky out the gate. Definitely forced some throws but I think he had really high expectations since he played well in that huge moment the year before. Maybe was overthinking things. I think the fresh start for him + having Lee with him will help him develop into a great starter.

Yeah, it was confusing. He came in two years ago cold in the first quarter against Georgia and drove the entire field for touchdown. But early last season he seemed to make some questionable decisions and look like he wasn’t able to handle the pressure well. He has a ton of talent and is incredibly smart so I think every ole Miss fan knew he would eventually develop into something special.

I don’t think you’ll find a single on this fan that will do anything less than root for him
