You Mizzou fans make yourselves an easy target. Y'all remind me of LSU fans who get all up in arms over being called corn-dogs. Need to grow some thicker skin.

I wonder what this board would be like if in 2007 Mizzou had maintained its first half Big 12 championship game level of play vs OU that resulted in a 14-14 halftime tie, then scounged out one more second half point to win by one thus sending Mizzou into the national title game while simultaneously knocking LSU out of it and interrupting the SEC's string of national titles. I wonder too what this board would be like if in 1960 they had awarded national championships after bowl games rather than before in which case would have both a national title history and a recent natty title game appearance. Would Anonymous Tiger find it within himself to shut the frick up, or would he still be an epic assclown? Hard to say.

Haha! My first day of even trying to frick with y'all and it only took 4 posts! Way too easy.

But like I said in my thead, I have nothing against Missouri, I just wonder if they actually want to be in this conference. From what Mizzoukills says, and from the conference itself trying to get into the Big 10, it just seems like they don't want to be here.

THIS. Gotta lock the borders. STL has been especially brutal for Mizzou in basketball and football. Mizzou does pretty well on getting the KC recruits but for whatever reason top STL recruits rarely come to mizzou

Like Gabbert and Richardson.

Y'all are thinking of "giant" the wrong way.

We're not saying Mizzou is a sleeping Alabama, Michigan, LSU, USC, Texas, or any of the superpowers.

but...

Mizzou has the potential to be a Wisconsin, Oregon, Penn State, Clemson kind of program.

Yeah you're probably right actually, although Florida wasn't all that special until Spurrier came along. Mizzou is really just waiting for its next Dan Devine to come along. We were a top 5 program through the '60s

I was more meaning that teams like FLA and UGA have some of the best recruiting grounds in the country. They have a different level of potential. Even though FLA was meh last year, they really are on the LSU, Bama, type level. Texas has been terrible lately, but they're still an elite program.

I think we could really be like a Wisconsin in terms of respectability year in year out.

I have respect for Mizzou. I know they went through a rough patch in the mid 80's to mid 90's but traditionally Missouri puts good teams on the field. But a potential college football giant? I just can't see it.

Dude, really?

I don't care who you are, that is an unprecedented amount of injuries, and I didn't even list all of the key ones. We never had that many injuries, not to mention key injuries in the B12. And most of those injuries happened before game 1 last year, so can't blame it on the bigger-badder SEC.

Not one team in the country could have sustained that amount of injuries and came close to reaching their potential, not one. That is the truth.
