As we near the expiration of the Big XII's GOR, the SEC will probably pursue adding OU to the SEC West. That will automatically push Bama and Auburn to the SEC East and Mizzou to the West imo.

I'm not so sure about that. I don't know how sustainable these TV contracts are.

I think it happens anyway once the SEC eventually adds OU to the SEC west. But for now I'm fine with this. As far as permarivals, couldn't the SEC just limit permarivals to certain teams like the PAC 12 does with the CA schools in the North and South divisions?

Auburn and Bama permarivals. Maybe LSU and Florida. Everyone else rotates evenly with 2 cross divisional opponents (hopefully 3 with a 9 game conf schedule)

Bama's gonna hold on to that UT rivalry game. And as much as people mock the meaninglessness of it nowadays, it really does have some serious history behind it. I grew up a Vandy fan, with obligations toward Ole Miss, and I knew what the Third Saturday in October meant before I started kindergarten. Just one of those things that people will fight to keep.

I was born after its relevance, and it means less than a pile of shite to me.

It died long ago...just like people actually holding kindergarten as a life goal for their kids.

Do you not do Private Schools?

I never suggested it did. I didn't even suggest it means anything to me, just that I knew about it. The programs involved are the ones who would get upset. This wasn't some subtle attempt to hurt your feelings or anything.

Alabama vs Tennessee is a non-issue.

It is a dead rivalry that only gets in the way of more important matters, unless you lived in the 1940's.

No one cares.

It is beginning to become a scheduling problem for the SEC in the future, however.

Hopefully you guys realize this pretty soon.

Missouri and Vandy to the West. Auburn and Bama to the East.

Once again, the SEC will not put teams from the same state in 2 different divisions nor pods. Therefore, Al./Aub., Tn./Vandy, & Miss./MSU go as pairs.

Maybe.
But I'm for the P4 (whatever happens to B12) to all have 4x4 pods to help end the scheduling arguments.

Bama in the East isn't really logical though.

Just switch Auburn and Missouri.

A - Adding OU only bring us to 15 teams.
B - There is NO format that fairly balances some teams with CD games & others not. Rough calculations puts those with CD games doing a full H/A rotation in 12 years & those without CD games in 7 (or something like that).

Why does Georgia keep getting these opportunistic seasons with a weak East year after year?

The Missouri/Auburn switch should have taken place long ago. The SEC has had long enough to figure things out since the initial expansion.

Time is up.

Lets say this happens and Auburn won the East. Could Auburn fans handle losing to Bama two weeks in a row?
