Why Vandy to the West?
Can keep rivalries (the whole reason it is like it is now), but then the divisions are ridiculously unbalanced

Yes, and that time will come again at some point.
Bama won't be the machine that they are now forever. Florida will cycle back to elite at some point. Tennessee...well, Tennessee is in danger of never getting back to that level.
These things go in cycles. The divisions are historically about as even as they could be at this point.

The SEC West begs to differ.

North and South makes no sense to anyone but Mizzou. And that's because they're the only team in the north. They'll be the title game every year... but would somehow frick that up, LOL!!!!!!!!

No. You have to meet certain academic standards in the East

Mizzou and Vandy to the West. Auburn and Bama to the East. Cancel perma-rivals. Don't know if Tennessee would be beat up about losing their annual game against Vanderbilt, and don't think LSU would mind getting the annual arse-kicking against Bama off their schedule.

Auburn: overrated and overhyped since 1856

About what? Yes, The West has been better for the past several years but there was a very similar run by the East prior to that.
3 Big 6 teams in each division. You can argue that the teams behind that are slightly better ceiling wise in the West but the split is pretty even. It's just not going to make perfect sense geographically AND competively.
I'd say the West is a tick better ceiling wise buts it's not obscene. The best way to balance in that regard would be Auburn for Tennessee imo

I'm in. Where do I sign?

Bama in the East isn't really logical though.
Just switch Auburn and Missouri.
As it should be.

The West teams like to circle jerk each other. Remember folks: LSU lost to Troy and Auburn nearly lost to Mercer. UGA and Bama are clearly the teams to beat.

As we near the expiration of the Big XII's GOR, the SEC will probably pursue adding OU to the SEC West. That will automatically push Bama and Auburn to the SEC East and Mizzou to the West imo.

I don't agree. You'd then have 4 of the 6 Big 6 members in the East. The competitive balance would be worse than it is now.
Geographically it makes more sense, I agree, but we all have planes.

I think it happens anyway once the SEC eventually adds OU to the SEC west. But for now I'm fine with this. As far as permarivals, couldn't the SEC just limit permarivals to certain teams like the PAC 12 does with the CA schools in the North and South divisions?
Auburn and Bama permarivals. Maybe LSU and Florida. Everyone else rotates evenly with 2 cross divisional opponents (hopefully 3 with a 9 game conf schedule)
