This is honestly true. Having two SEC teams that despise each other in the same small state is killer. If there was just one, it would be a really dominate team.

To be honest we should've listened to Bilbo in the 1920's, and his "Wisconsin Plsn" which wanted to put one big university in Jackson(could've found somewhere better). State and Ole Miss alums in the legislature shot it down, but from a sports view we'd be dominant in all three sports if this would've happened.

Eh don’t get crazy now. MS produced athletes fine based on demographics, but this is on a per capita basis. They still don’t produce tremendously when looking at the top states. Louisiana who’s not exactly way at the top had almost double the nfl guys last year.

Looking at the top 10 (per 247) from last year:
#1 and #2 went to Tennessee.
#3 and #10 went to State.
#4 and #8 went to Alabama
#5 and #6 went to Ole Miss.
#7 went to Auburn.
#9 went to A&M.
So only 4 of their top 10 recruits went to Ole Miss or State.
Looking at 2027, 3 are committed to Ole Miss and 1 to State.
#1 and #2 went to Tennessee.
#3 and #10 went to State.

#5 and #6 went to Ole Miss.
#7 went to Auburn.

So only 4 of their top 10 recruits went to Ole Miss or State.

In terms of total number of black people, Mississippi has the eighth-most black people in the SEC footprint.
UGA is the one that should really be racking up. Three times as many black people as Missisippi and no real in-state competition.
