March 2 is also the birthday of one of America’s revered wordsmiths. Theodor Seuss Geisel — or Dr. Seuss — used his incredible talent to instill in his most impressionable readers universal values we all hold dear,”

It was posted by a conservative, satirically.

Not sure who you're proving is stupid here.

Sounds like he nailed it then.

If you can read a Dr. Seuss book and walk away thinking the book was racist, then you're an idiot of the highest magnitude. The end.

I legit don’t understand this Seuss controversy. No one was prodding the corporate entity that owns the books to stop publishing them, they just made a strategic decision about what they’re going to print. They’re not going to burn the proofs and make everyone do the same with any copies. They may print them again in the future for academic/research purposes. Honestly, it was probably sensible to stop printing the book with black people who look like monkeys in it but that’s just me.

I’d legit not heard of any of these Seuss books. Ain’t like they decided to stop printing Cat in the Hat.

False

There are no people in the books at all, to associate those characters with a group of people is quite a reach and somewhat of a racist one at that.

There is none. Social media culture causes people who identify too much with political sides to feel attacked when something as simple as a company making a strategic business decision to stop selling books happens.

Literally never heard of this before. There is some librarian in the school system my wife works at who doesn’t like Seuss because he was a philanderer or some dumbass shite.

I’m immensely online and never log off and I literally haven’t heard shite about Seuss until the publisher decided unilaterally to stop publishing 6 C-list Seuss books. I actually vaguely remember Goya beans getting cancelled and never heard anything about this until the publisher themselves did something.

They didn’t unilaterally decide to do it, Dr Seuss was celebrated by the Obamas, but apparently whoever was supposed to tell Biden what to do decided that he should exclude Dr Seuss from the Reading Across America Day. What bravery! He makes no mention of the man the day is in honor of, and immediately they decide to drop the books. Just a coincidence, I’m sure.

To be fair, most liberal leaning people are not these insane whacko’s that want to cancel everything. Most people don’t give a shite. But there is a small and very loud portion that has more influence than everyone else. It also does not help that Fox News etc throws gas on the fire because it gets ratings.

It’s the same as if I said all conservatives are extremist who believe in conspiracy theories that Democrats run a human eating ped ring and HRC wants to take over the world. And that DJT was brought from heaven to overtake this threat.

Both extreme versions are insane and the reason why this country is fricked. And it all gets ratings so news organizations won’t stop covering it to death

I don't disagree there are some extreme and insane versions of both sides. I tell them so pretty much equally, but lately it's been the left that's more vocal and pushing things. It's like they are both hell bent on proving each other right. I sometimes wonder if it's real.

I have found that the folks who like to not only claim but emphasize the word literally are usually the furthest from it.
