To be fair, most liberal leaning people are not these insane whacko’s that want to cancel everything. Most people don’t give a shite. But there is a small and very loud portion that has more influence than everyone else. It also does not help that Fox News etc throws gas on the fire because it gets ratings.

It’s the same as if I said all conservatives are extremist who believe in conspiracy theories that Democrats run a human eating ped ring and HRC wants to take over the world. And that DJT was brought from heaven to overtake this threat.

Both extreme versions are insane and the reason why this country is fricked. And it all gets ratings so news organizations won’t stop covering it to death

Yeah, but Tate Reeves isn't his governor because he doesn't live in Mississippi. He's a Mississippi State fan who lives in Virginia.

People can live in states that aren't the ones their schools are in. You know that, right?

The only racism I see is those of you who see that image and associate it with "black people."

Yeah no that’s a terribly inaccurate summarization on this thread/situation

Well I can show my work with examples if necessary to support my summary.

Do you have an alternative summary that can be supported with facts?

its based on acid trips and cocaine but thats beside the point .. Even though the Dr didnt intend to be racist , the images in his books in the year 2021 are racist .No way to avoid this . Now everyone knows im not the most liberal person but i call em like i see em ..and while Trump is the furthest thing from being a racist ...the Seuss books have some racially offensive stuff in them ..Look im still pissed about the Cleveland Indians changing their name next yr ,,, I can see getting rid of the goofy red faced crooked nosed chief Wahoo but tho get rid of the name "Indians" is bc our owner is a big fat p---y.

So to summarize.....

No, actually, the Knights Against Racist Education Now Society (KARENS), discovered that the supposedly beloved author of children’s books that seemed to preach a message of tolerance and inclusion was,in reality, a vicious bigot who was corrupting their young minds with subliminal racist images. So, like the other despicable bigots like George Washington and Abe Lincoln, he must be exposed, and his offensive scribblings and doodlings banished, lest even more of our kids have their minds polluted by those vile books.

Maybe, slightly. But the publishing company who owns the rights to the property decided it did not want to produce two of his lesser known works due to something in it that could be perceived as racist. (Something they have full authority to do) and right wingers are losing their shite over it because they want the government to force a private company to produce something it doesn’t want to produce. Otherwise known as authoritarianism.

Where in his comment do you get that he wants the government to force a private company to produce something it doesn't want to produce?

The publisher can publish or not publish what it wants. I think what some take issue with is whether or not the publisher was pressured by left wingers not to publish said works or whether it was the publisher's own decision. The far left tends to take a mile (or ten) when someone they're after gives an inch.

You may be right and the move may be 100% the publisher's decision but IF it's far left pressure basically forcing the publisher's hand then they likely won't stop until Green Eggs and Ham is cancelled as well.

How about a make believe character in a children’s book by an author known for make believe characters? Why are you bad at this??

What’s ironic is our governor had a picture of himself in black face in his college year book and everyone is okay with that.

It's like sending nursing home patients with covid back to spread it among their room mates or kissing aides without their consent.

It's ok if the correct letter is beside your name on the ballot.

Imagine being upset over this

The thing that gets me is that this is a business making a business decision in our free market economy.

I don’t understand why any so-called “libertarians” are upset about this. It’s almost like they don’t actually believe what they claim to...
