This ... I've made such calls, you get the public information person on the phone you're going to get a one-word descriptor of the condition, period. Unless the family has left instructions for nothing to be released, and if the reporter got "critical" out of the PIO the family has not done that.
But as I said last night, it's not out of the realm of possibility that a local reporter might have a relationship with a PIO to where an off-the-books call is made and information shared off the record and strictly on background. And the reporter will keep that off-the-record and on background until the time comes, because if you burn that source you'll never get information from them again, and you may need it again in a lot less high-profile but just as newsworthy situations as this one.

They recognized their own signs and were able to convey to the other person to call 911. The bowel evacuation was apparently the biggest clue as it was "ex[plosive". Not sure if they were still cognizant when EMT's arrived or not, but did die en route.
Do you know what the cooling done at the hospital was? Not sure if this was a 1 off from and experienced staff and facility or something that is actually entering the mainstream?

Stable likely just means on life support and stabilized
Likely true. Typically stable means vital signs are within normals limits. Life support does that though.
Just searching for any possible good news at this point

I think everybody is searching for good news but it seems like all the msu writers are not expecting any.
I think we’ll hear something after all the family gets there.

I played offensive line/TE in college and back then I ate 10-12k calories a day and never gained a lb from it. I miss being able to do that
I was was a lineman and that was my calorie count when playing, still struggled to gain weight.
As you get older the calories drop. At my age I am between 800 and 1,200 a day
Protiens, fruits, and vegetables are about 90% of my daily diet
Limited carbs
No salt (added, you need some daily salt)
No sugar (especially no added sugar)
Almost ZERO restaurant food (especially no chains)
No frozen or processed meals

Prayers for your mom
I remember when I was in 2nd grade we moved from Yazoo City to Sunflower my mom caught severe pneumonia and we had to carry her out of the house she couldn’t get up and walk herself. Took her to the hospital. She almost died, it’s nothing to play with

You got it. Hope your mom gets better. Pneumonia is no joke and it can sneak up on you.

From Saturday Down South.
quote:
Mike Leach continues to recover from serious health complications that began on Sunday, and he remains at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson on Monday.
The Clarion-Ledger reported that the Mississippi State coach had a massive heart attack on Sunday, and Leach, 61, collapsed at his home in Starkville, but did not receive medical attention for between 10 to 15 minutes. EMTs used a defibrillator machine and delivered multiple shocks to restore normal heart rhythm.
After he was stabilized at Oktibbeha County Hospital, he was transported by helicopter to UMMC. Two of his 4 his children are already in Jackson with the other two en route. Leach also may have suffered seizures with the possibility of brain damage as the situation is dire.
