Like I've said earlier...Mett has just missed on a few big pass plays.
If he can just hit one of them...

The real problem with that philosophy is that Alabama is one of the only teams in the nation with enough depth to keep from wearing down against an attack like that. LSU may try to pound it, but Alabama won't wear down.
Uh, Alabama's D was worn down at the end of the game last November - truth.
The key for LSU will be to pick up first downs and keep Bama's D on the field.

Mettenberger reminds me of Andy Kaufman.. you look in his eyes and wonder if anybody's home. I have my doubts about him putting it all together against this defense, but you never know, I guess..

Maybe this is the week he doesn't miss
What kills me about this is that the WR have had opportunities to make catches and do some damage. Also Mett has made some questionable throws but also made some good ones. It is a 50/50 problem with the passing game. Lets hope the bye week helped the O.

Alabama has a slight edge in a lot of categories, but has played weaker opponents, so the two are pretty much a wash...except for the QB position.
Agree.
It would be perfect for the SEC if both teams play well and the outcome is determined by just that. Don't want to see a sloppy game from either side.
I've been in too many and seen too many of those and the fans deserve the best.
AND no injuries.

Yeah, but they finally sort of wore down in OT (and didn't give up a TD) and it took grinding out a 6-6 type game. It's just really tough to pull that kind of game off.

Yup. That is going to fall on Mett's shoulders though. That has me a little nervous.

And slow as Christmas if he has to run.

This is false. LSU will NOT beat Alabama if Mett throws for only 98 yards like he did against A&M.
Go back and look at LSU's QB play in the A&M game.

They might win it on the ground, but LSU has to prove they can pass in order to really get the running game going.
Last November LSU was 9 of 17 for 91 yards and 2 interceptions and won the game.
I'm just sayin'...

Yes it does. Glad to see the remedial math worked out for you.
So stop acting like Bama ran for 3 TD's.

Bama Fans may be surprised at LSU pounding the rock even against 9 men. But we will do it and have done it well against the last two good defenses. Understood Bama is an altogether different animal, but Les is gonna dance w/what brung him.
If we do toss dive into the pile, toss dive into the pile, and then incomplete pass on third down, I'm turning off my TV. How about a little creativity. Hey, here's an idea. How about something Bama is NOT expecting? Jesus.
If this is our mindset, I'm seeing one of those 17-3 deals where it looks like we couldn't score again in eight more quarters. Defense plays its heart out as usual.

Just know this. Posters like you who hold onto that 1-1 season like it is the end all be all will have the biggest melt down if the Tigers shock the Tide.

"Yeah but"?
Of course it's tough, this is LSU v Alabama, what do you expect?
My point is that it can happen as was proven last year.

Maybe not...

This. I am waiting for the type of offense LSU used against USCe. To bad LSU will never use an up tempo Offense and really piss Saban off. Either way this game is going to be a slugfest.

I wouldn't be surprised if Miles opens up with his 2-min offense. No huddle. A hand full of plays called at the line. No chance for Bama to substitute.
Not saying it will happen, but I wouldn't be surprised.
