I agree. Bama will load the box to stop the run. The way to overcome an aggressive and dominant defense is great QB play. That can put the defense on its heels. If Mett can complete passes on 3rd and 8 to convert first downs, then LSU has a chance. Going to have to hit a couple big plays in the passing game.

It's what the convo has gotten to dude

Well, I'm not some ADD kid, I can actually follow a 'convo' without being distracted by flashing lights and shiny things.

I personally doubt Ware is going to matter in the passing game, at all, but I'd rather you be right and LSU win.

Jesus, I'm not saying Ware is going to PASS LSU to a victory. He MIGHT pass, but consider Mettenburger in the option...

I think Ware at QB might give LSU a better shot this Saturday.

I'm not saying Ware will start and play the whole game, I'm not saying he will get the majority of plays, I'm not saying he's going to throw for 300 yds and 4 TDs, I'm not saying Ware is going to put the whole team on his shoulders and carry them across the goal line. All I'm saying is that he may come in and play QB, mostly running, and give LSU a slight twist that may be all that is needed in a game between two close teams.

And you're Louisiana Black Bear looks gay.

This year's visit to LSU has a weird feeling to it. Prognosticators are predicting Alabama to be a touchdown favorite, but we all know that position for position, LSU stacks up better than that against Alabama. Alabama has a slight edge in a lot of categories, but has played weaker opponents, so the two are pretty much a wash...except for the QB position. Mettenberger has all the tools, but hasn't really put it together yet. If he "comes into form" this Saturday, it could be a 2010 Bama@USCe all over again. LSU may be good enough to beat Alabama without stellar play from Mett, but they may just run away with it if he shows up to play and has a great game. Some people say it's not a toss up like last year, but I disagree. This game will come down to a lucky play (Reed pick last year?) or a weird ref call (Peterson pick?). Another classic game for the ages.

I've felt that way about Met and the passing game all year. When Met was accurate, his receivers dropped the ball. Against Aggies,he missed wide open receivers. If LSU is to beat Bama,Met and receivers will have to play their best games of the year.

Mett has talent but the $64 question is will have time to throw and does he have receivers who can get open and make plays? Zach is a pure pocket passer; he doesn't have a lot of mobility. I can't imagine that he will have a lot of time to survey the field so he will need to make quick precise passes. If I was Bama I would play tight coverage and blitz early and often.

Agreed.

That's not the only way to combat 9 men in the box.

Run the ball 11 on 11. I say our 11 are better than theirs. I'm afraid that might mean short side option, though...

they couldnt stop UFs run game

Florida ran on LSU because our defense was on the field the whole game. If time of possession was anywhere near even, Florida wouldn't have scored in that game.

So it comes down to that. If LSU can get some first downs on offense, move the ball a little bit, and eat some clock; then LSU's defense will be rested and should be able to stop the run.

If they can't do anything on offense, then Alabama will run the ball effectively in the 4th quarter, like Florida.

21-0 against the best LSU defense ever

You're kind of leaving out some context again. LSU's defense was on the field the whole game. I thought they played really well, all things considered.

I think that will happen again
