I agree with this, but if we could pull a miracle and get Marshall as a 2nd RB this year...I wouldn't be mad.

That's what Hart is, just in a compact 5-8 frame.

Hart will be at least 200 when the season starts...

Pank, I know you love to post that and all, but many of us State fans were mocking him long before you were old enough to play on the computer.

Don't forget Justin Taylor is already committed. Alabama is now looking for a second RB for the 2012 class. I wouldn't overlook Taylor just yet. Ingram was the "second 'back" in the 2008 class.

Taylor reminds me a lot of Ingram, can consistently 6-8 yards a play up the gut with an occasional long run.

He isn't gonna run past many, but speed is overrated for a RB. If you average 5 yards a carry, you could run a 5.0 for all I care...

Eta; Cap somene updated your thread on Shell and he lists Bama, UF, VT, Pitt and someone else but Aburn was not on his list this time. UF and Bama are the only two sec teams on it now. Pitt is prob where he ends up though.

Are you talking about my thread on TideFans? I'm aware. I still like Robinson the most, but I wouldn't hate to see Alabama land Rushel Shell.

The best part of it is the amount of awful predictions he made. It wasn't just the record but players that he dubbed all american as red shirt freshmen.

You act like taking a 3rd RB would prevent us from stacking those other positions. We are already stacked on the OL besides OT, which is where we have a need, and I doubt the coaches take more than one more unless some complete stud falls in our lap. I'm not sure how LB is a huge issue depthwise, though we'll grab our usual 3-4 total I'm sure.

DT is the biggest need for us period, but I doubt we take more than 3 total really.

We are far from as stacked as you can be at RB. Injuries happen, I can remember numerous years where our top 2 backs went down at the same time, and a few where we were on our 4th string back. We basically have 1 true freshman as our backup and that's it this year, we are not stacked. All it takes is a tiny bit of attrition and you are screwed by not having enough backs. We are still recruiting Shell, Marshall and others, it's pretty obvious the staff is still going after RB. Whether that means we are going after Jovon hard still remains to be seen.

I don't think he chooses AU after we got Yeldon and Blakely.

I watched both Yeldon's and Robinson's highlights and if it was up to me I'd rather have Robinson. He has a NFL frame and great speed for a big back.

If Robinson or Marshall want to go to Auburn, the coaches WILL "take" them, have no doubt about that.

And, no, the Auburn coaches made no promise to Yeldon that he would be the only RB recruited/signed by Auburn. Just memphisbammer throwin' shite against the wall again.

Auburn is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay under their numbers.

We'll have a full 25 to give and plenty of room for OL, LB, and DT in addition to 2 RB.

Ard for me to consider him elite when he hasn't played a down and more importantly is smaller than what Bama normally runs. He is better than most thought but I still remember a majority of fans on this board who were happy he signed just because it secured HaHa. I don't understand how we go from "we signed him to secure Dix" to
he is elite. Not a slight on the kid just funny how everyones attitude has changed considering he hasn't taken an sec calibur hit yet.

great player, wish TN was in the thick of things.

I like where we stand with Kimbrow though, and I'd rather have him at this point.

I think our staff is happy with Imani Cross, and we're working with limited numbers this year.

Obviously, Memphis is just in there as a shout out to the locals. 0% chance he goes there, unless he can't qualify for an SEC school.

Historically, we (the Hogs) have just not recruited well in the Memphis, South Haven, Olive Branch areas. Or even NE Arkansas for that matter. It's not TOO far from Fayetteville, but several schools are closer.

Hope we get him though.

from what I've heard OM seems pretty adamant on leaving for the NFL

If that were true, he would have left already...

He knows as well as anyone else that he'll get broken in half in the NFL unless he bulks way up. He wants to leave as soon as he can for the NFL, but he knows it's just not time yet.

For those that don't know, he doesn't know who his father is and his mom is a drug addict who's been in and out of jail his whole life. He grew up with basically nothing and lived in and out of different peoples homes, etc. The kid just wants some money in his pocket and a better life for himself and his mother. If there were ever a rule made for giving college players spending money, this is the kind of kid it would be made for.

I did not know that. Good to seem him follow a different path, and hopefully he will continue that path on into the NFL where he can make some real money.
