Over 30 - last count, IIRC, was 33.

Which is reasonable considering that the Associated Press sports writers were hopefully more knowledgable about these things, especially in the day of few televised games, or even zero televised games. As long as you create unbiased paremeters that apply to all teams, as voted by respected sources, is as close as you can come prior to the BCS. Listing tangential and biased sources undermines it all.

That's cool!

If Alabama only claims AP/Coaches/BCS/Playoff titles, we have 13.

Surely claiming every little trophy will get Auburn past that number, right?

... Right?

The fact you all have that many legit ones makes claiming all the fake ones so much more pathetic.

I would like to know the source that was used to come up with this. I am legitimately curious. The NCAA record book online shows 5. It does not list 1910,1914, 1958, or 2004. I checked Bama and it listed the 18 claimed and added 5 more years for a total of 23. They don’t claim all of them

If it’s ok to count like that now, I say we drop 1941 but add 1945, 1966 and 1977

Awesome we are now tied 6th all-time for most national championships with Ohio St and Southern Cal.

Not achieved or not we would have beat USC in 2004. We were denied the chance.

But being denied a chance to play does not equate to winning said game.

That USC team was legit. I think there is a good chance Auburn could have won, but we’ll never know.
