Mark Richt First 3 Seasons vs Kirby Smart First 3 Seasons

Mark Richt:
32-8
8-4, 13-1, 11-3
1 SEC Championship Game win
1 SEC Championship Game loss
Kirby Smart:
32-9
8-5, 13-2, 11-2 (one game to go this season)
1 SEC Championship Game win
1 SEC Championship loss
Kirby is also now 4-5 against the SEC West while Richt was 8-3 against the SEC West.
This is basically the same person. Both couldn't win the really big games and it seems at least at this point in their respective tenures Kirby chokes even more than Richt with better recruits. Looks like Richt did a better job coaching his lower ranked recruits than Kirby is doing coaching his higher ranked recruits.

Watch out all those facts will “ trigger “ snowflakes to downvote . Your first upvote for honesty .

Mark Richt was a very, very, very good football coach the first half of his career at Georgia................so I'm not sure what this is supposed to prove.
Also, year 2 Mark Richt would have clearly been in a 4 team playoff and had a legitimate shot to win it too. So even more of a parallel.

Ummm most programs would kill for that record in the first three years of a new HC.
It wasn't the early part of Richt's tenure that did him in, it was the latter.

You are the worst poster on this site. Do Richts last 3 and Kirbys first 3. The notion Richt was let go for his first three seasons, your Op, is ridiculous

The West was garbage compared to now.

Richt didn't exactly inherit a depleted roster. We had some pretty good talent. Donnan was just not a great coach with that talent.

That Rose Bowl says otherwise.

Who couldn't win the Big Game hence why he was fired. Make no mistake about it Georgia hired Kirby Smart to win a National Championship something Georgia hasn't done in forever. From the data we have so far Kirby suffers from the exact same problem(s) that the guy they fired did. There is very little to no difference between the two. Does this help you understand it better?

That isn't my notion. The notion is that there is very little difference between the guy you Fired and the one you Hired.
We can compare the last 3 vs last 3 when Kirby gets let go for not being able to win a National Championship either. I am betting the records (like the first 3 seasons) will be almost identical in that situation as well.

He was fired after 3 seasons? Weird, I thought he was there for like another decade.
He was fired because he went 16-8 in the SEC his last 3 years against a miserable SEC East and was clearly not doing anything differently.

100% agree

Yes, from years 1-3 they look very similar. And at the end of year 3 people at Georgia were happy with Richt and hoping he would take that next step. They are hoping the same with Kirby. If in 2 years he hasn't they'll start grumbling about him too.

I mean, I understand you are absolutely obsessed with Georgia, and that's you thing. That's cool.

He didn't have Saban across from him in those early years.

Even if Kirby is basically Richt, we're still better off because:
Early Richt years>Late Richt years
I don't think people remember how shitty 2006-2010 and 2013-2015 were.
