Manziel has stooped to the point of fleeing a car accident on foot (documented in the story), like some illegal would.

I love you clowns. Absolutely love you for constantly reminding me why I went to A&M.

So are y'all numbnuts back to John David Crow as "Greatest Aggie of All-Time"?

Among football players I'd say no. That distinction still belongs to Manziel. But if we're being literal here I'd have always picked one of the MoH recipients over an athlete.

I bet you're glad that idiotic aggie (redundant?) regent didn't succeed in getting Manziel's name on the stadium.

Yes. Yes I am.

BTW the pic I posted and my subsequent old curmudgeon griping about it provided my signature.

I actually rooted for the Aggies when JFF was at the helm. Sucks to see his downward spiral.

Nah, man. You did that when you chose your screen name.

I'm sorry that I do not believe addiction is a disease needing treatment. It's something the insurance companies came up with to get more money.

Do the research.

Do you even know the definition of the word disease and if so please explain why addiction does not fit that description?

serious question...are you legitimately retarded?

the research is clear that the AMA, APA, CDC, WHO, SAMSA and every other medical organization considers it a disease...look it up in the DSM V, numbnuts.

and it wasn't until decades after it was declared a disease by the American Medical Association that carriers were mandated by law to cover treatment.

Oh I see you quit your hilarious "I'm a longhorn who hates Aggy shtick." That was so awesome bud- lots of laughs from everyone.

Also as adorable: your line of BS that Manziel wasn't exhibiting problems in college. What a joke. You and your mouth breathing brethren love to point fingers (it was Pettine! It's a horns media conspiracy! Derp derp derp!!) but never put blame where it (at least partly) belongs: your program.

A&M under Sumlin has been a total shitshow off the field. Look at the quarterback situation from the last 5 years, look at your 2013 recruiting class, look at videos of drunk head coach, it goes on and on. The atmosphere is a total lack of responsibility- cool DJs in practice though.

I know I know- tu sucks and we had a shitty record and Strong sucks blah blah blah. Stop deflecting. You created the world that created JFF. You think he'd be this big a trainwreck right now if he had had more guidance than your enabling coach? But next year right?

Sounds like you're really happy in your recovery, man. I hope when I start drinking like a woman I can find a safe space with you to hang out with.

I have for a few years now. Twin studies show that genetics can predispose someone to alcoholism. It has strong heritability. It can also effect the reward system in your brain and your uptake of certain neurotransmitters. It can cause your brain to actually atrophy.

No. It can cause diseases through heavy and chronic drinking but not a disease in reality.

Besides, wouldn't you want to be able to conquer something and not have to always have it? It seems the concept of it being a disease further advocates for the victim to remain a victim.

Don't want to bore you with the many long medical journals you can find online; but here's a brief synapses of at least one.

I can keep going...

quote:

The focus on cue-induced craving and the underlying learning mechanisms (Glautier et al., 1994; Carter and Tiffany, 1999) has revived the discussion on whether the disease concept of alcoholism should be replaced by a social learning perspective (Heather, 1992). What was not being denied are the organic consequences of chronic alcohol intake, such as brain atrophy (Mann et al., 1995) or neuroadaptive processes such as a reduction of central dopamine D2 receptors (Volkow et al., 1996). Rather, it is argued that cigarette smoking similarly causes physical dependence or neuroadaptation without therefore being considered a disease. The disease concept may label patients and promote apathy associated with the ‘sick role’ (Heather, 1992).

But I won't. I am free to believe whatever I want; just as you.
