I was prepared to lose Mantas.
I don't what to think about the GM. I want to say he screwed up, and we fired him for it, but surely we didn't hire him just because he could deliver some kid that would probably average about 10 a game.
Maybe there was intentional deception going on or he is being fired for not being very organized. Maybe he is a fraud

He lied to his employer… made us look foolish in the process, wasting time and resources. Has nothing to do with delivering a player or whatever.

This really does suck for Steven… we’re about to spend 4 months on the bubble (if we’re lucky)… the fanbase will want him fired.

I remember your posts in Steven's first season. You wasn't exactly thrilled with the season yourself.

For the record I want him to have a successful season but if he doesn't this is on him. He hired this GM and made a big deal about it. He also passed on Aristode from Arizona now Oregon to go with Mantas.

Kloman is an idiot for tanking his career like this. Cohen has to go too.. just way too much sloppiness during his time.
I'm not going to blame SP for getting lied to by his GM.. like who even thinks that shite would happen? I still think this team can be decent and a fringe tournament team, but this is a big hole in the roster now.

Feel like Cloman is the scapegoat here.

With soft bigs and a lot of very G6 talent, I suspect the bball team is missing the playoffs again which should be a death knell on Cohen. The guy has been a joke and this is just another dot on the "i". My fear is our money guys would push to get a reluctant Bruce Pearl into the AD seat and we'd continue to be an unorganized and unprofessionally run department. Auburn really is it's own worst enemy.

Just a bad look but good on staff to immediately remove him for this. I'm with Jang, never really thought counting on Mantas was a good idea, just seemed to drag on too long for anything positive to happen. See some talk about Muschalek getting more minutes out of this? Maybe I missed his position but I thought Mantas was poised to be a SF? Anyway, I'm interested in getting King eligible to help the backcourt and Freeman healthy for the frontcourt. I don't know that this news changes my season outlook too much. Give me Tahaad, King, Kimbell, Overton, Williams, Olsen, Dowd, Freeman, Oboye and Ngoy and I'll watch it play out.

Someone needs to make a rule that if a kid has
1. ever signed any kind of pro contract anywhere to play a sport you cannot play that sport in college...no exemptions.
2. Set an age limit. If the player turns 24 before the school year in which they intend to play they are not allowed...no exemptions.
3. You have 5 to play 5 before the age of 24.
Obviously these schools need to be saved from themselves.
