I think it's okay for a school to claim a title when they had the most selections even if they didn't get the AP and/or Coaches. Damn.
But you only list Alabama with 7 national titles despite winning AP in '64, '65, and '78. We also won Coaches in '73.

I don't think you are understanding the concept.

That "Peoples National Title" in 2004 was VERY impressive!

And no one is saying those aren't legitimate. Again, I was just going by which team had the most selections for the purpose of this thread.

Probably woulda been better if he worded it correctly.
Like, "Football National Titles, based on majority of selectors at the time"

I'm surprised more State fans haven't jumped in here to dispute this.

It wasn't a hard concept to grab the way he has it worded. What did y'all think he meant by majority? All of y'all just decided to skip over that word I guess.
Posted on 2/25/13 at 5:10 pm to Weagle25
Well, it could have meant many things. For instance, Bama has the majority of football NC in the SEC. It didn't specify SEC though, so it could have been a list, that included ND and Oklahoma and Nebraska being in the top majority of National Titles in football.

FWIW the NCAA recognizes AU's 1913 national championship
