I really can't figure out why georgia tech won all those polls. They outscored their opponents by a larger margin than anybody else, but they also played one less game than we did. They didn't go unscored upon either. Oh, well.

Only polls that matter are AP, Coaches/UPI and BCS in the modern era. Before poll titles the Rose Bowl was the defacto NC game. Any other source doesn't count, including Bama's 1941 claim. Bama has 14 legit Titles and everyone else is WAAAAAY behind. You're welcome, and consider yourself schooled.

Alabama 1925 , 1926 ,1930 and 1934.

39-0-1 , 3 Rose bowl wins and 1 R.B. tie.

Bama outscored their opponents in these 40 games
1133 to 107 with 27 shutouts.

Stats speak for themselves. We all know the Yankee teams got all the hoopla but Bama was the best.Just fact.

You want to argue with the points I made above ?

I say 15 ,I will count 1941 since Bama was the preseason #1 in 1966 went 11-0 to Notre Dame and Mich. St 9-0-1.

Also 1977 Bama top 3 all year , Notre Dame fell out of the top 10 with a loss to Ole Miss 20-13,Bama beat Ole Miss by 20 played Nebraska and USC out of conference losing in Lincoln by 7 after 5 turnovers.

Bama beats Ohio St by 30 in the Sugar Bowl and Notre Dame jumps from 5th to 1st because they beat Texas.Bama was 2nd going into the last regular season game ,beat Auburn but got pushed down to 3rd setting up a screw job by the Yankee media.

Your just spouting other peoples point of view but not looking at the facts.

Oh bless your gump heart. You seriously think all those championships in which you lost your bowl game actually are legit. Had the ap and coaches poll taken the bowl game into account, youd lose a couple of those. And you split like 4 or 5 of them as well

Will the playoff system end the various ad nauseum arguments moving forward? I doubt it....will these various entities awarding titles stop awarding titles moving forward? Doubtful.

LSU 3 (1958, 2003, 07)
Tennessee 3 (1938, 50, 98)
Georgia 2 (1942, 80)
Texas A&M 2 (1919, 39)
Arkansas 1 (1964)
Ole Miss 1 (1960)

Agree with the above.

Tiptop 25 does a GREAT job of awarding the true best team in the country the NC for the past 80-100 years (or thereabout).

Think Bama has about 7 when they really were the best or most deserving team in the country.

AU has 3 as noted (1957, 1983, and 2010).

LMAO at this ignorance.

Oklahoma 1950 national champs 10-0 lost to #7 Kentucky 13-7 who finished 10-1 just like Oklahoma.THIS JUST IN...you cant change the rules .bowls were considered exhibition games. Notre Dame never played in bowls pre 1970s so you assumption is laughable.

I love the way you people think you can change the rules of years gone by.

Also for those of you that love the AP vote and regard it so well , in the 40s and 50s it was considered a joke.

Anyone ( radio station , newspaper no matter how small barber shop ) who subscribed to the A.P. got to vote in the poll.

Some years there were over 400 voters ,some years 150 or fewer , that changed in 1958 after Auburn won the title , I guess the Yanks didnt like the fact that Auburn learned to play the game ( rally votes ) like Notre Dame and other northern teams were doing.

The AP was nothing more than a " fan poll "

Auburn was by far as according to the schedule they played the top team in 1983.

Nebraska was the best team IMO , they should have kicked the extra point to win the title.

But since they did not Auburn overcame one of the toughest schedules ever played and should have been #1

I CALL IT LIKE I SEE IT....Sorry Bama fans.
