We just had the laziest coach in our history take the money and run leaving us with only about 10 or so commitments just a few days before national signing day.
Lane salvaged the class, that ranked 12th, added a few, and ended with only 15 commitments total. Job well done. Only15 commitments with a 12th ranked class is damn strong.
He has killed the transfer portal and is not finished, and that is what the talk is about.
No one expects LSU to have a Top 5 overall class this year.
However, this will be the deepest team Lane has ever had as a HC after being on campus less than 2 months.
We are headed in the right direction. We will be very good next year after being horrible for the last few. I don't expect us to contend for Natty in Year 1 but at least we will be respectable again.

You might want to check out this years final standings in the playoff and compare that to where those teams ended in the portal rankings vs the final overall rankings before trying to say it’s an indictment on the class.
