Your denial doesn’t change facts. Facts are what they are.
First SEC team to win 15 games in a season.
Most points scored in a single season.
Most passing touchdowns in a single season.
Heisman. Biletnikoff, Thorpe, Maxwell, Manning, O’Brien, Coach of the Year, Broyles Awards.
Beat the two teams that accounted for the previous four national championships.
Plus the wins against top 10 teams during the season and at the season’s end that exceed any in college football history, and a host of other records, etc., etc.. etc.
By any factual measure, an historic season. Teams will be chasing these records for a while.
You start off saying only gumbo eaters are impressed. I provide multiple articles written by non-LSU affiliated sports writers that make the case. You come back with weak, non-responsive excuses and irrelevant points. But, but this team, that team, the defense.....
Face it, you lose this argument. You’ve got nothing that says this isn’t an historic season in the history of college football. You can argue that LSU wasn’t the greatest team ever, a fair debate. That LSU had an historic season is not debatable.

Nothing historical about the team only the fact that you were the 2nd team ever to go 15-0 in div 1 football. Congrats! Take your trophy and go home..

We would’ve worked Bama in a rematch by 20 or more

I don’t remember where I read this, but it was reported that Vegas would have LSU favored regardless of who Bama had starting at QB if they met in the playoffs.

Couldn’t beat us with Blake or Jacob, barely beat us with a depleted roster. I think Mac will be fine if the rest of our team is healthy.

I'm confused sir.

Your premise is that Bama would've beaten LSU in the CFP with their backup quarterback even though LSU had already beaten Bama with their starting quarterback and the other team that Bama had also lost to.

This isnt adding up.

Honestly, no one cares about Hypotheticals.

If Petrino hadn't lost control of his hog, Arkansas would have 5 natties by now. Prove me wrong!

First you have to make it there. You couldn't beat Auburn, who we also beat. Then we curb stomped Clemson, who curb stomped the team from Tuscalosa 12 months prior. Your argument doesn't hold water. And if you blame it on Tua's ankle that satan did was a full go, then get rid of the idiot that played him.

LSU would have lost..
If they would have played against Bama in the CFP'S. Thus, the purple tigers owe a great debt of gratitude to High School Gus and Barnyarders! Privately they know this is true. Publicly, they espouse bravado's and false delusions of grandeur behind a purple and yellow/gold facade! Enough, already!
take your trophy and be happy!

For a little while..

I hear Stephen Colbert needs comedy writers. Why don't you apply?

Before the Auburn game, I'll bet bama was looking ahead to getting in the playoffs with a shot at a rematch with LSU - which is what y'all specialize in when you come in 2nd in the West - mulligans.
But guess what? You LOST. Auburn had a great team last year, it's a shame they had almost as tough, if not an equally tough schedule to LSU, because they were clearly better than OU IMO....

We played like shite against Bama, should have scored 80. Was hoping for a rematch but i'm sure you would have lost to Clemson, again.

When ya'll' beat Georgia y'all would have lost to us if we had played you in the CFP's and privately you know this to be true.

One of my best buddies is a Bama alum and former All-American. He had nothing but praise for LSU this season - said it was one of the most remarkable runs he's ever seen, especially with the offensive display week-after-week against some very good offensive and defensive teams. The fact that you cannot acknowledge how great a season this was only shows your inability to be honest.

One of the truest quotes EVER is "He who praises everyone praises no one". The corollary to that is "He who praises no one deserves no praise."

Green with jealousy is an ugly, ugly color - especially paired with that crimson jacket! You guys could show a little class and give some credit where credit was due - I guess it's not in your DNA.

Bama with so many back in to the NC games must think they are the chosen ones every year. Again you didn't earn the chance to be there. You didn;t earn the 2011 chance either. The sugar daddies of the media gave you that gift.

IN TOTAL what's the most meaningful stats? Scoring, to ratio red zone scoring. TOP. 3RD or 4th down conversion rates etc... The point being
This was a down year for defenses in the league. AU was supposed to have a monster of a defense.. Did they? No, not really. By all accounts, a smidge above average.. Georgia? Fla? You play in the SEC weak I mean easy...east!
