The safe play, and one almost everyone makes there is to get a few extra yards for your FG kicker who can make that kick. You could make a very iffy FG a very makable one with just 6 to 7 yards. If that Hail Mary falls incomplete, he's kicking a 57 yard FG which is even a reach for him. Made no sense, especially if you are not trying to run up the score.

Until LSU has a decent offensive scheme, one in which more than two receivers run routes on any one play, they will struggle mightily. This shite show was entirely on the offensive coaching staff and O.

There was only 5 seconds left on the clock, they had to just throw it deep. No time to really run a play and call a quick TO, big risk with only 5 seconds left. I mean maybe you get a yard or two on a QB sneak, but they still would unlikely try a 55 or 56 yarder over just chucking it deep. Tracy is an excellent kicker but I feel like they think his range is around 55 yards in game.

LSU is going 7-5. I didn't think Miami was that bad and Florida is not good either. I said that those 2 possible losses.

LSU had trouble protecting the qb.....maybe that’s why they did not pass much in the 2nd half.....considering there were only 15 plays of offense by the Tigers in the 2nd half.

If you think we lose 5 football games with this defense you clearly havent watched us play at all. Offense will naturally come around some, it wont be great by any means, but this defense is very very good. Best we've had in years. IT does worry me though we lost Chaisson for the season. We actually had 3 starting LBs out against a very good offensive team in SELA and still shut them out.

For all the great stuff you could say about LSU last week, this matchup brought back a lot of questions. We see the glass half empty side from those who felt LSU would not have a good season this year.

If you are a top 25 team with SEC championship dreams, an FCS should not be within 200 yards of you in total offense, much less 100 when the horn sounds. Take away the hail mary and that stat is almost even.

LSU DL was dominant as they should have been.

I thought Burrow looked fine. His problem were the guys around him.

Your Oline looked overmatched at times by an FCS school. Once Burrow was either sacked or pressured into an incompletion on 3 consecutive downs.

How legit is this team? Question still to be answered. Guess we'll see Saturday.

To the pit of misery for you for bringing up rational thoughts regarding LSU.

Both starting tackles were out of a already subpar OL. We get one of those back this week but I don’t see us scoring much vs Auburn. Good thing is we don’t turn the ball over and the defense and special teams have played great.

It’s going to be hard to beat a very good Auburn team for sure

Saturday is gonna be very interesting. And frankly a much more important game to the league going forward than is being discussed.

LSU fans are teetering between complete ecstasy and agony right now. They are aware that their offensive coordinator may be complete garbage, as AU fans have been telling them from day 1. That along with a qb playing his first SEC road game against a front 7 of complete savages at a furious Jordan Hare out for blood to avenge an embarrassing collapse that kept us out of the playoffs and well... not an ideal situation for a jittery purple and gold fanbase that is already mentally unstable.

On the other hand, LSU is 2-0 with a top 10 win over a questionable Miami and will trot out one of the best defenses in the nation. AU did turn the ball over 3 times Saturday and with a D like LSU has, you always have a chance.

This game could send LSU fans into an epic melt that could put the tenure of O into an unrecoverable tailspin (sorta the opposite of how last years game vs AU gave him a reprieve).

Or a win and no less than 2 million "we comin" posts and gifs will absolutely inundate and swamp this site making in almost inoperable and meaningless for days.

Kind of reminded me of Georgia v. Nicholls State 2016.

LSU is defense is good. Alabama, Auburn, State and maybe even Texas A&M has a defense that is just as good or maybe better than LSU defense.

1. Who is borrow?

2. Joe Burrow held the ball to long because of piss poor play calling. Running 2 receivers agains 5 or 6 DB is stupid. But it’s par for the course with this offenses staff and Ed 0.

Good thread btw. I agree with all your points. It's just like most of us thought at the beginning of the year. Defense great. Offense not great. Not because of Burrow though but because the OL is beyond trash.

LSU is gonna lose at least 5 games this season, if not more. Lots of work to be done in building an offensive line.
