That's not how this works, but keep praying.

No wonder Les was so good at recruiting. I've had an inside source tell me Les and company liked to play dirty. Really glad coach O came in and changed the culture.

I almost added that old standby to my post too. But, I thought it was redundant.

LSU should have pulled an Auburn and been like ".. oh yeah? we payed players? prove it a-holes"

Thats kind of the point.

There's no evidence players were paid at all besides the OBJ shenanigans.

The father of former offensive lineman Vadal Alexander received $180,000 in stolen money from LSU booster John Paul Funes, who admitted in 2019 that he embezzled more than half a million dollars from Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge. The money was payment from 2012 to 2017 for what the NCAA characterized as a “no-show job.”

So a 180k was actually for an LSU recruits dad, BlueTunaTiger's info must have been slightly off...

I'm not reading through this whole thread so sorry if someone else brought this up. According to the radio here the 8 scholarships applies to the 85 and not the ability to sign 25 this year. We wouldn't get to 85 anyways if we sign 25 this year. If that's true, this "penalty" is a joke. Seems like they went overboard on OBJ just to offset the Charmin soft scholarship penalty. I can't imagine why the NCAA would go along with that.

I genuinely feel bad for LSU fans.

CFB is better when LSU is good. Unfortunately the combination of an inept HC and the devastating sanctions coming their way, LSU is about to be Tennessee level the next 5-6 years.

I wish it could have worked out differently LSU fans. But here we are. Nothing you can do but just deal with it.

Unless the NCAA piles on, the sanctions won't have much impact

The only incident where someone actually from the LSU program was involved was the recruiting visit.

quote:

At trial, it was determined the head coach Mike Dubose knew nothing of the pay for play scandal and though the NCAA determined that the school and coaching staff was not guilty of wrong doing, Young's status as a booster was the same as a staff member.

It was not determined beyond doubt what Means himself knew.

So even though the player and Alabama staff did nothing wrong, the school only narrowly avoided the death penalty for a rouge booster's actions. Alabama paid the stiffest of penalties.
