He has a disagreement with the school about something that isn’t a big deal, the school probably isn’t going to disown him, the fans don’t need to use this opportunity to crap on him. He basically won that Heisman all by himself, he was the team. His legs were dynamic.

He pissed on the program where he had success and salvaged his diminishing career. We embraced him and LSU's sports information did a helluva job with promoting him of Heisman.
Loyaly and respect are a two way street. How many players have worn Tebow's #15 since he left? He didn't cry about it. Why? Because Tebow is a Gator for life and wants his beloved UF to win. Daniels should want LSU to win and if that means allowing a kid to wear the number, so be it.
I also don't think he's being disowned but he has some fence mending to do. At this point, I'm not sure he cares enough to do so. Big mistake on his part.

Kiffin is honoring a commitment made by the Kelly staff to DJ Pickett that he could wear 5 because he wanted it and thats been his number since he was very young. Then, he is also honoring the commitment made by the staff previous to Kelly which told Burrow no one would wear nine. So, he's being completely consistent in the whole scenario.
