I think one of the bigger downsides of losing Brennan and not having a backup you trust right away is that you probably have to call the game a little differently with Johnson running, which I think is one of his strengths.

Not necessarily as a big play run threat, but the fact that you can roll him on play action or RPO and teams have to respect the fact that he can tuck for 5-6 yards and get hit on every play. That changes the way a defense defends and opens up the middle of the field more.

If you have to shield him from taking a ton of hits I definitely think that takes away some of the playbook that his skillset fits best.

If you genuinely think you won the 2018 7 OT game, then I just feel sorry for you. You can't be helped. Not to mention your only two wins in history against LSU are by a combined 15 points (2 in '18, 13 in '20). We beat you by 43 points in one game (2019)

By all accounts Max would have been the starter either way. Idk where you are coming from with this take

Then why have you lost 2/3?

Mond played out of his mind in 2018 and every questionable call on plays that would have won the game for LSU went A&M's way. Last year LSU returned 2 starters, lost the only QB who had taken a snap prior to the season and because of injuries and opt outs was down to 50 something players. It just wasn't anything resembling a normal football season.

As much as I hate to say it, this year is really the tipping point between LSU and Aggie. Assuming similar overall records, If Orgeron loses this game, no one can say LSU is the better program with O at the helm than ATM is with Jimbo. 3/4 won't lie. That said, I expect a double digit victory from LSU. I think Atm struggles this season.

You're putting too much stock into one match up.

I promise if A&M goes 10-2 with a loss to LSU, but LSU goes 8-4 with a win over A&M, not one truly believes Lsu is better than A&M. Same for the reverse.

Lsu Offense: Brennan vs Johnson
Not to take anything away from Brennan, and it absolutely sucks for the guy that he is hurt. However, Johnson didn’t have Gilbert or Marshall When he went into the Swamp and gutted out a road victory against a top 10 team as a true Frisch. That kid is going to be rally good.

There is someone who actually watched the LSU Florida and Ole Miss game. LSU suited up about 48 Scholarship players vs. Florida and around 44 for Ole Miss.

Did I not qualify the statement by assuming similar records?
