Saban’s first year at Alabama was pretty bad.

He didn’t have the transfer portal. That’s a huge difference. We’ll be bringing in 10+ college starters. Some 2-3 year starters.

We lost 2.5 starters in Dwight, Ricks (played half the season), and Johnson. At least 5 of these guys will be day 1 starters and these kids actually give a shite and will be held accountable and actually coached.

This transfer portal development is going to speed up LSUs “rebuild”. 6-6 simply isn’t happening anymore. In the past I could see it, but the portal has changed things.

As opposed to hiring an OL coach from Georgia? Don’t get me wrong I think Pittman has done a nice job so far at Arkansas but you can’t seriously be criticizing the hire as an Arkansas fan.

Glad you informed the OP and the rest of us that his feeling on next year's potential is speculation...

Depends on the coach. I stayed in bed for a few days after Alleva hired O.

Wins. They'd have left by now if they didn't want the challenge.

youre dreaming. 6-7 wins is your ceiling next year

You obviously do not believe that. But, on the off chance you do, I will take LSU and over 6.5 regular season wins for any amount of money you feel comfortable with.

hmmm. Just noticed that, actually, LSU's recruiting class is getting relatively worse. Now it's #9....in the SEC, behind

(national rankings)

#11 Kentucky
#12 Missouri
#15 Tennessee
#16 Auburn
#19 Arkansas
#20 LSU

oops. Edit to include THE LINK

whew

That list shows LSU with only 13 signees.

Now rank them including transfers.

I don't know why it is necessary to repeat the same ole shite week after week, year after year but I guess our State (Louisiana) really is insular... so...

I say again ... LUSer are the worst fans for only looking at their own team and declaring it an unimaginable collection of specimens. DAMN IT... there is always another SEC team on the field. And they usually "have talent."

So.. take a look at the prospective roster next year, including all those "we're killing it" transfers, and compare it to... say... Mississippi State, and then tell me who you would bet on right now for the game next year.

Football is always a comparison, which is why I say LSU will be 6-6 or maybe 7-5 next year depending on the FSU game opener, which will be a tough game for the tiggers.

Arkansas is a better football program than LSU.

LSU's worst team this century took hawgs best team in a dozen years to OT. Think tigers are still the better program.

You say that, but I doubt any LSU fans predicted going .500 after a national title, and a losing season within 2 years.

247 can already do that for you.
LSU is 4th - 5th when you do average recruit ranking, below Missouri and above Florida.

Of course the drop off on that list from #3 (Georgia) and #4 (LSU) is wider than the drop from #4 (LSU) and #13 (Mississippi State). The difference between #2 (Alabama) and #4 (LSU) is almost the same gap as from #4 (LSU) to #14 (Vanderbilt).

Do you?

Lookie here boudreaux... I'll quote Charlie Mac.. you LSU fans ought to get out more.. you know, travel somewhere more than a few miles north of I-10. State beat LSU's azz last year even though they lost the game, so did A$M. You do know LSU lost to Miss and Ark don't you? And none of those teams are going backward..

I think LSU will play six close SEC games, win three lose two maybe three close games with two blowout loses. The difference between 6-6 and 7-5 will be FSU.

That is no insult for a team new in every respect from coaches to schemes to routine, with a lineup of transfers and cast-offs and maybe wannabe hangers on put together with bandaids and splints and duct tape and superglue.

Kelly had to clean out the entire structure down to the foundation. The days of winning college football with a frat-boy animal house, good-ole-boy, trash talking, lockerroom rah rah, "we comin'" "let's get physical," team vote, 1950s shite attitude, in your face, down-de-bayou threats and insults are over. Kelly knows it and he had to flush that shite completely out to introduce a method that works in the 2020s.

Too bad he can't flush that shite out of the stands and the weak-minded last century fan base.
