Some LSU fans are scared of a rematch. I believe the players and coaches want to play Bama again. I thought after the game judging from Jefferson and Les' comments they see Bama as their only competition. A rematch would be the biggest and best BCS Championship ever.

You want a team that didn't even win their conference division to play for the BCS National Championship... Not a Chance

I want to see a great BCS Championship game, the ratings would be through the roof, and it would be an all SEC game. You couldn't ask for more.

All the little "psychology" trick eh. Lol how pathetic. You had your chance, shouldn't have squandered it. Only Alabama would want a rematch because they couldn't do it the first time around lol.

No second chances for you.

Only if the game is played in Tiger Stadium with normal ticket distribution.

A home game for the good guys.

And the caveat of you guys returning the favor the next time you beat us in the regular season.

I haven't even seen any of the post-game stuff except for bits of Saban's.
Read them. Maze even blamed a "phantom wire" for his miscue on the 73 yd punt.

Both teams played their hearts out and I gained immense respect for the LSU nation on Saturday, and for a team I already liked a whole lot. I guess I just hoped the feeling was reciprocated.
Dude, I have much respect for the team we played last night. That defense made our offense look inept for most of the night. It was almost like both teams were playing mirror images of each other. I've bragged on TR since he arrived on your campus; you will not hear me say anything negative about a group of players who played their hearts out.

Unfortunately, the Tide came up short. I'd just rather not see another battle of the field goals, and your kicking problems aren't going to be solved by January. It's done; I don't want to do it again for many of the reasons mentioned in this thread.

We're looking forward to a more challenging opponent in the NC game, since we pushed you guys around (148-96 yards rushing).

Not gonna defend any sort of comments, but I would suggest that you consider the source. Are the 'Bama players really trying to take the credit for the win away from LSU, or are they disappointed in themselves for the mistakes they made and the mistakes which LSU forced?

I'll say now that there's probably not one single person in the Alabama fanbase who feels more dejected than the players do today.

Again, not trying to excuse or defend any comments, just... go easy on 'em?

I agree. I'm opposed to a rematch. Despite what Les had to say last night on the issue, I don't think it would be fair. I would have felt the same way if we had won.

Come on now. That's not going to happen. Barring a breakdown on our part, last night was essentially the NC game. The only game that will have a true #1 and #2 pairing off.

With that said, it just reinforces how good this LSU team is to go into Bryant-Denny and beat such a teams. Respect is due, and respect is given.

Yeah, man. When you skulldrag whoever shows up in NOLA during the NCG 47-3, you'll have faced someone FAR more challenging than 'Bama, who only pushed you guys around (199-91 yards passing).

By all means, though, make another shitty post. The board hasn't seen enough since last night.

It's tough to beat a bama team of that quality, or any team twice in one season. Bama and LSU are the best 2 teams in the country, but we came to yalls house and won in a hostile environment in a defensive battle. We held yalls heisman running back in check and won the biggest regular season game ever. A team we have not played deserves a chance if LSU makes it to the national championship. BAMA had their chance and it was a great game, but we won.

Finally, a post I can agree with in this thread. Credit where credit is due, and a solid rationale behind not wanting to see a rematch.

Class.

Very nicely put.

ETA: I don't think there should be a rematch, either.

The only way I would like to see Bama make it to the title game would be if LSU didn't make it for some reason (God forbid.) Everyone knew last night would effectively knock the loser out of consideration if the winner goes on to win out. I wouldn't think it fair for Stanford or Okie St. for Bama to be awarded a second shot. Let another team that has played its heart out for consideration take a shot.

Once again, NO disrespect to Bama at all, if the tables were turned it'd be a hard pill to swallow, but I still wouldn't think LSU would deserve another shot against Bama if we didn't take care of business in the reg season.

It would be a banner year to get to spank Bama twice. Sounds good to me.

Can't post on "Tide Fans" b/c those lame pussies shut it down to "LSU fans."

Bama is supposed to be the more physical team, run it down your throat, and stuff your run, we saw quite the opposite. Yeah, Bama is the 2d best in the country -- I was pulling your chain, but how about some acknowledgment that LSU was the PHYSICALLY superior team, instead of this lame crap we hear from the Bama players? "We the better team." No you're not. You got beat in your home stadium by a BETTER team.

I guess it's a matter of perspective. I saw two teams which were so evenly matched that it was almost surreal to watch.

You know, we're just as proud of our team as you are of yours. Put yourselves in our shoes and ask yourself how quickly you'd be able to acknowledge that the better team won, were the roles reversed.

If that game was played ten times, I have a feeling it would be a lot closer to 5/5 than either of us would care to admit.

Better team? I suppose it would be fair to say so, but even you'd have to admit that it wasn't by a substantial margin.

If you can't beat LSU in Tuscaloosa, you're not beating them in the dome. Hang it up. You don't deserve it.

LSU beats Alabama at Alabama during regular season.

LSU gets to play an additional game in Atlanta to win the SEC championship.

Reward: LSU gets to play a team they already beat on the road who didn't win their conference.

No.

Or we can look at this way:

Alabama loses to LSU at home in regular season.

Doesn't have to play in SEC championship game.

Reward: Get to play for national championship.

Uh, no.
