LSU has definitely been in “rebuild” mode the last 2 years, and honestly really still is for another year or so. Especially on the defensive side of the ball.

But as would be the case at any program, of course there’s a lot of optimism at LSU when - during the first 2 years of a rebuild - you win 10 games both years, win the West, and win a Hesiman. The first two years have absolutely had some speed bumps, as would be expected given the circumstances… but overall there’s certainly a lot of reason for optimism moving forward.

You are definitely correct … LSU is not currently at Bama and UGA’s level. But we’re absolutely getting closer to being “back” there than we were in 2021. I think what the other poster is saying, as we all know… LSU has “been there” before, so the program knows exactly what it needs to do to get back.

You know I’m not saying LSU isn’t a good team, I’m just saying that I think the talent gap is still there, but can be closed with good coaching. Do I think LSU is there now? Only the offense. Can they be scary? Sure, IF Baker does his end of the deal.

I hear you, and I agree.

LSU fans - rightfully so - have a lot of pride in what the program has accomplished in the last 20+ years. We obviously are trying to get back to being elite, and hopeful/optimistic that BK will get the program back there (where LSU fans expect us to be given past successes)

We’re clearly not there yet. There’s still work to be done for sure.

Georgias future looks bright. LSUs not so good. Y’all are stuck with the 9-3 dancing queen for a very long time. That 100 mil contract is not looking like a good decision is it?

But you paid Jimbo because…why?

Why have you all not fired the AD? He is a loser

A&M can't fire the AD that hired Jimbo at A&M because he is been the AD at LSU for a few years now...or did I misunderstand your comment??

If I learned something under the Jimbo experience, is that recruiting and compiling a roster full of blue chippers, is actually very hard and coaches who can do it, are very skilled. I think BK is a good recruiter. I am hoping Elko has that rizz too.

I personally think LSU’s future looks very bright. As does Georgia’s.

But you’re certainly entitled to your opinion.

Here's where I suspect you're either trolling or entirely uninformed. Currently, there are only two active coaches ahead of CBK in total wins—Kevin Donley and another whom I'll let you guess. While Saban, who is a decade older than CBK, holds a lead in wins, CBK is trailing by only 10 wins in his entire coaching career.
Saban Wiki
Kelly Wiki

Your potential next argument might revolve around national championships or comparing CBK to Saban. While you may have a point, it's crucial to acknowledge that Saban entered the SEC in 2000 around the age of 54. CBK has now entered the SEC (Decade later than Saban) and is on a trajectory similar to Saban's early days at Alabama. Their coaching paths share similarities at their respective ages. What's noteworthy is that CBK took on a challenging task with a subpar 30-man scholarship roster (Saban did not first entering LSU) and still secured an SEC West victory in his first year. As he heads into his third year with two solid recruiting seasons behind him, the '25 class appears to be one for the ages if it holds.

Either you're unable to see these aspects, or you're simply overlooking them.

LSU had somewhere around 30 something scholarship players when BK came in, I believe.

Let us see your math.

They had a good coach in Saban, but the irrationality, ignorance, and ruthless stupidity of the mostly illiterate and completely unintelligible fans drove him away from that cesspit as fast as he could go.

Gump fan talks about LSU fans Ignorance with no understanding of why Saban left LSU in the first place. Do some history checking before typing your garbage. The fact of why Saban LSU was not the LSU fans it was that Wayne Huizenga(Miami owner) basically offered Saban full control of the Miami Dolphins. Head Coach /GM type stuff. Saban had always wanted to try the NFL and no one was ever going to get this type of offer. Quite the opposite of your post Saban and his wife loved LSU and baton rouge but the Miami offer was to good to pass up. The only reason you guys got Saban was that it turned out Saban was not that good in the NFL and he decided to pass on the chance of signing a QB named Drew Brees. So here's to your stupid post of why Saban left.

Problem for LSU is that you cant sustain success very well, which is what knocks you down to the tier below.

realize LSU won 2 NC's & played for another one with Les Miles & Ed Orgeron as their coach. It is very apparent that LSU is scary with or without a good coach, so no matter where you think CBK falls in either of those 2 categories, LSU is capable of winning NC's no matter who their coach is.
yep. Well said.

Revisionist garbage. No rational person could love Louisiana or lsu, for starters.

You sound like you are creating a fairy-tale in your mind and hoping others will believe it.

"They loved lsu and Louisiana and all the wonderful people there and the crawdads and nutria and the lovely boulevards and palisades of paradise on Earf, Baton Rouge, but the Miami offer was just their dream come true, their everything they had ever wanted."

Give me a fricking break. Saban got the hell out of that sludge pit as soon as he saw how ungrateful lsu fans were after he went 9-3 in 2004 and lost the Capital One Bowl after just delivering a NC the season before that.

Did the fan of team who has more people living in single wide trailers wearing t shirts from Wal Mart that call in to the Paul Finebaum show every day and sound like they walk around bare foot in overalls all day just call another fan base unintelligent?
