Sorry Michael Smith that we couldn't help
you get out of Arky. Couldn't turn down Juluke.

@JeritRoser: #LSU announces addition of Jabbar Juluke as new running backs coach after brief stint at #TexasTech, 3 yrs @ #LaTech.

Oh hell yes!

We flirted with Smith, but no doubts this was our first choice. Welcome aboard Juluke!

about the only guy who has NOLA area connections as solid as Frank Wilson had. Will be an ace recruiter

The only coach with as strong connections in New Orleans as Frank Wilson.

Why is NOLA such a linchpin to recruiting success? Why not focus on Houston, Dallas, Northern LA and other areas in LA. Seems too much credence is placed on a guy because of NOLA connections.

I was unaware lsu needed help in the New Orleans area.

They should have hired bill gates, that's where they need help

LSU recruits there too, but its still recruiting OOS, and they have other recruiters assigned to those territories already

Northern LA and other areas in LA.
NOLA has far more talent than anywhere else in the state, and again, LSU has other recruiters assigned to elsewhere in the state

LSU is replacing their NOLA recruiter, it only makes sense to hire someone else who will do well in NOLA

The fact that you said this tells me you have no idea about the recruiting landscape in the state of Louisiana and especially New Orleans. And FWIW he is an excellent coach on top of his recruiting capabilities. And remember, he is from here so he is not stupid enough to believe the crap our Governor was spewing the other night in his "scare my legislature" address.

That's their talent base. This is like asking why Miami focuses on south Florida.

Ed O has helped lock up northern LA, needed someone to replace Frank as our ace in NO.

Do you think he's the coach that can finally develop LF to the point that he will live up to the hype?
