LSU had the QB, the receivers, much better RB and better OL in 12 and 13 to get the job done. Even had a very good defense in 12.

2012 Bama 21 LSU 17
2013 Bama 38 LSU 17

Don't give me that BS that LSU hasn't had the QB and the offense to beat Bama.

What will be the reason that LSU fans give after their lose tomorrow.

Yes, it is the same. Those teams had the Heisman front runner at QB and had already broken almost all school passing records going into those games. ITS EXACTLY THE SAME GUMP.

That 2013 game was over when Copeland fumbled at the goalline on the opening drive.

2012 was a close, epic showdown, and the last time LSU had a great offense and solid defense. 2013, LSU's defense was shite.

In both cases, Bama's defense was better than it is now.

Compare y’all defense to those years

Also what’s the point. We’ve lost in the past so we’ll lose again?

Y’all know history didn’t start on 1/9/12 right?

They absolutely had the tools. They lacked the offensive playcalling they have now, which is maximizing the use of those tools. Mettenberger would have been a beast to contend with if not for the handcuffs Miles' offensive style placed on him and the skill players on his teams.

Talent wise those teams were comparable on O and maybe even better, on D 2012 was very talented.

Scheme did held those LSU teams back a lot. It’s ok to a have a run first mentality but when you have Landry and OBJ on you team and your most used formation is 22 personnel you aren’t even putting the guys on the field to force the opponent to have to defend them and create space for the run. To make it even more ridiculous LSU almost never threw it to the TEDs. Just ridiculous.

It’s a testament to how talented those teams were that doing what the opposition knew perfectly well was coming they managed to put at least a few points on the board.

Every LSU fan has forgotten that during the last 7 years LSU has had 2 quarterbacks drafted in the NFL.

Exactly. Imagine this offensive scheme with Mett, Odell Beckham, Jarvis Landry, and Jeremy Hill.

I think the difference is that those Bama teams had really good defenses. Not so much this year. That’s why LSU has a shot.

Exactly. And do not forget the games where REC had to save bama because we where about to beat them and then the yellow peppers began to fly.

You are absolutely right when you say we had the QB to win that game.

When we were one 1st down away from securing that win, we elected to run the ball btw the tackles 3 straight times.

Les Miles ain't walking through that door

That's a pretty interesting point. LSU fans, would you take Mett or Burrow to go with the good play calling you finally have this year?

Well for starters, we don't have Les Miles. I think even you could figure that out.
