I would prefer having the opportunity to play Georgia, Tennessee, USCe more frequently.

LSU wasn't complaining about TSIO when Tn. kept winning.

& what do you suggest to those that WANT to keep these rivalry games...which, BTW, will NOT be treated as a non-conf. game?

& going division-less means MORE tie-breakers to compare all 14 teams to each other due to lack of common opponents.

& HOW are you going to balance the H/A schedules for all those conferences. & WHEN do these teams meet again at the opposing home site?

Technically yes...even though that was just over 20 years ago.

It’s one of my favorite games of the year. It needs to stay, IMO.

I am pretty sure that the LSU / UF game ranks as the #1 or #2 cross div game every year.

AU/UGA is #1 or #2.

The ala- Tennessee game is all but forgotten, nationally. It doesn’t mean anything anymore except for those two fan bases.

It’s not a home and home. Each team gets three games a season, games are assigned randomly from within the conferences . Say 64 power teams. Basically what Saban talked about last year.

3 nonconference games against other OOC power teams
Teams alternate years of 2 nonconference road games vs. 1 nonconference road game

Any LSU thread will have a bama fan shitting all over the place within the first 2 pages.

Regardless if the thread is about them or not.

LSU vs UF = LSU 10-9
UGa vs Au = UGa 13-7
Bam vs UT = Bam 14-5

Actually I have never give the Bama-Vol game much thought. LSU didn't need Tennessee wins vs Bama. LSU was beating Bama regularly when the Vol-Bama game was competitive. I think LSU lost to the Tide one time from 2000 to 2007.

Seriously, the so called "TSIO" is not much to write home about. I get AU-Bama, AU-UGa, UF-UGa but not much else moves the needle.

The fact is that you could preserve about 3 to 4 permanent opponents and rotate the rest and not upset the apple cart for everyone else.
You could even have Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 format as follows (and keep an 8 game SEC schedule).
8 year cycle
Tier 1 Rivalries (2 Teams)- Play every year =16 games
Tier 2 Rivalries (2 Teams)- Play 6 years out of 8 (3 Home & home series) =12 games
Tier 3 Rotation (9 Teams)- play 4 years out of 8 (2 Home and home series)= 36 games
Total that up: 8 Conference game per year for 8 years = 64 games

The teams with the two best records meet in the SECCG.
It ain't rocket science.

Not quite true- a lot of us wanted to play Tennessee and Georgia more.

My own personal gripe isn't about Florida being too tough an opponent, it's that you don't get to see most of the other division in a timely manner.

Hell, I'm all for keeping Florida, and rotating Arkansas and Miss State off .

It could be worse. Florida is a premier game, just like Auburn-Georgia or Alabama-Tennessee. I'm glad we're not playing Vandy or Kentucky every year (no offense to them).

South Carolina? You have got to be kidding. I doubt you have ever attended a game there especially early in the season. Columbia is where the Devil goes when Hell gets too cool!
If a rusty old stadium in an industrial area a couple of miles from campus is your idea of being Southern you really need to get out more. You are right about Georgia and Ky. though. Beautiful stadiums in great towns.
My and many fellow Dawgs favorite road trip is LSU. Great atmosphere, incredible food and fun opponents. Georgia and LSU love to party and its always a huge party when we get together.

Please end permanent cross divisional opponents and play 9 SEC games per year. LSU and UF have had some great games, but I'd rather see LSU play all SEC teams in shorter rotations than now.
