LSU fans, would you prefer to end the annual Florida game?

If you could cast the deciding vote to end permanent East/West games, would you vote to end it?

I know you don't like that Bama has had the easier road with UT being down (Fla hasn't been all that great either) but I don't think LSU fans want to cancel this game. I think we are rivals now and don't want to see this game end like the Fla/Aub game did. Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

What say ye?

All fans can give their 2 cents. Sorry I did want to hear specifically from LSU, but appreciate all opinions. Some more than other of course.

It’s one of my favorite games of the year. It needs to stay, IMO.

As a UGA fan, I would hate to see this rivalry end; felt sad to see the Auburn-UF annual rivalry end, too. That was always an exciting game to watch.

I can answer that for them. Yes, they want to end it.

Hell No. It is my favorite game of the year along with the Auburn and Faggy game. Got all 3 at home this year. I have made a ton of friends from all 3 schools who look forward to tailgating with my group. The Florida folks seem to be the most appreciative of our party. But like them all.

My opinion is that they would just like to see Tennessee get back to beating Bama occasionally.

Or even regularly for that matter.

It’s a great game. But I want the league to go to a schedule that sees every conference member play every other conference member on a regular rotation. I want a chance to go to Georgia, S Carolina etc as well. As it stands now- It’s almost like we aren’t in the same conference. So I want to add a conference game AND Institute a rotating schedule without permanent opponents from the other side. And then after that, play ONLY OOC games against the power five leagues, also on a random rotating schedule.

Florida is not a rival to us like some of the other cross divisional rivalries. I'd be happy to do away with it if it meant we got to go visit the other stadiums of the SEC East on a faster rotation.

Well there is only 2 and no we don't have the tradition of the DSOR or the TSIO, but I think playing over 60 games and almost 50 consecutively should constitute a rivalry, especially as close as the series is and and great as the games are.

2020 will be the 50th in a row I believe.

I hadn't realized until now that UT has been on the skids for a longer time than I had previously thought...since the 2000's, they've had 8 losing seasons, including 4 in a row, and are 6-7 in bowl games, etc. They'll eventually make it back. I think.

I know OP specifically asked for LSU fans to respond but I’d like to please give my opinion of permanent cross divisional games. I’d like our conference to completely do away with permanent cross divisional games altogether and we go to nine conference games. We should rotate cross divisional conference games evenly. That would make it more fair for everyone and as it is now it’s not fair for LSU to permanently have UF and Auburn to permanently have Georgia. I’d like to see Bama play Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, and Kentucky more often than every decade it seems too. But the Birmingham office hadn’t asked my opinion yet so I doubt it’ll change any time soon.

Not to be rude to Florida fans in your thread, but Florida's fans and the game day experience at Florida are one of the worst in the SEC. Football aside, I'd prefer to go visit Georgia, South Carolina and Kentucky more often. They all have a Southern feel to their campus and Florida just does not.

LSU fans used to bitch about it much more, but it's one of our best games every year. LSU fans love that matchup and right now with all the stuff that happened recently, it's one of the best ones going. The bitching wouldn't have been so bad if not for Bama winning titles and having an easy W for so long (I'm talking about when playing Tennessee, not LSU). Meanwhile, LSU was playing another powerhouse. But Tennessee was really good for many decades before this recent period. Bama is just fortunate that they have been bad for so long right now. But that's how it goes sometimes.

It does make LSU's schedule extremely tough when you have to play Bama, Auburn and the rest of the teams in the West along with what is probably one of the top 5 football programs over the last 25 years. But compeition is what makes it exciting.

I love this game. There are so many exciting memories of the UF/LSU series for me, win or lose, that I’d hate to see it end. I feel like it gives extra value to season ticket holders too, where we’re assured a great game every other year rather than playing Vandy or Kentucky or something

No LSU fan wants it to end. We may hate Florida but it's still one of our favorite games yearly.

no. I've been watching this game for over 50 years and it has not disappointed; one of the best games in the country most years.

however, I think the SEC needs to make some scheduling changes to make the league more fair. if LSU had to give up the florida game to make a fair rotation I would reluctantly agree, esp if we go 9 conference games.

If Lsu wants to duck them, A&M will take that game. We’ll give you our Cocks matchup.

Like who?

Florida is our biggest rival in the East and will always be like that. Between everything that's happened in the past 20 years, Florida is probably one of our biggest rivals.

To say they aren't a rival to us like others is stupid.

Auburn v Georgia
Alabama v Tennessee

Maybe on the football field, but it just doesn't have the same passion between fan bases to me.
