LSU fans? What’s the first game you lose and unleash all the dogs of hail on this rant?

I think rival fanbases will have a lot more to say with the first loss than LSU fans.
Rivals fans are already setting it as a failure if LSU doesn't win a natty this year, or at least win 11 games.
I'm expecting something like 8-4 realistically.

I don’t think there will be any melting as long as we at least split A&M and Ole Miss. losing both would probably bring Junior and Lulu to see red.
Every LSU family and friend I know isn’t worried because Lane is going to eventually win big. As said above, sure sounds like the national media and seething rival fans are the ones setting up the false expectations.
I’m fine with 9-3 depending on how it happens. 10-2 is a success with the schedule. Anything better and people should be worried about the Train.

Sure would be sweet if LK carried the BK drop game 1 torch forwards

For a $50 million roster and $100 million in coaching? Dude I'm calling out bs.

Splitting games against two top 10 teams isn’t a big deal. I’m not saying everyone is going to be in bliss but any fan above a room temperature iq is going to be fine.
ETA: sure, there will be some shite posters like there always are win or lose. Everyday fans will be fine and many of us have wanted Lane at LSU for years. People will be patient.

OM fans need to stop worrying about LSU and should begin preparing themselves for their slide back to a mid-tier SEC team once this season is over and Lane's players are gone, if you think Petey is going to keep OM a consistent 10 game winner like Lane did you are delusional...

Ole miss, Clemson are probably the only single games that would cause a huge melt for lsu. Ole miss-obvious reasons and biggest melt, ckemson-1st game of the lane era, even though it’s his first game and a big brand, lsu has the better roster. Clemson is basically in complete rebuild mode right now with zero experience at qb, and a roster that wasn’t good last year but lost 9 guys to the draft. With lsu recent struggles in openers, losing another big opener(especially one expected to be mid tier acc) will bring Brian Kelly levels of insecurity out(even if unwarranted). I could also envision a gigantic melt if lsu controls Aggie or bama game but loses the game Mario Cristobal style(completely on the coaching staff).

$40-50m roster or not, it’s unrealistic to expect a natty with a new administration, new roster, new coaches, new scheme, new culture, etc. If this was year 3 and we had a $40-50m roster, I’m expecting a natty.
The media and rival fanbases have placed an unrealistic expectation for LSU this year, primarily due to the animosity of the coach and how he left his last school for a better opportunity, knowing that there’s <1% chance that he will win big year 1.
With that said, anything below 10-2 and I’ll be disappointed but I’m expecting anywhere from 8-4 to 10-2 with this schedule, uncertainty of the health of our QB, and it being year 1 with the goal in mind making a playoff appearance.

I wonder if we'll get a Willy melt like the one we had last season:

Why would you call BS? The money LSU spent this year was for a total rebuild. That money is the average year for A&M and you guys only melt slightly. Maybe because after decades, the fan base is just used to it over there.

Don't see a loss for Lane in 2026, post the 2027 schedule and we can talk

Truth.
I watched their 10-3 shite fest bowl with some family members who are TA&M alumni.
They weren’t angry or upset or depressed. They expected A&M to lay an egg, so it was no surprise or big deal to them.
