LMK's offensive genius will get EVEN BETTER with LSU recruits. Will be unstoppable. Has 2 GREAT QB;s, RB's, WR's, and a solid O-line. Pieces are all there. Even has Saban to continue to mentor him. DEATH VALLEY will be on fire every Saturday game night...TIGER BAIT!!!

As long as you all keep Lane Kiffin at the forefront of the media conversation, criticism and hate, LSU fans will rally around him.

See Will Wade.

I think it will be the Bama game, if it's anything like the 2024 game in baton rouge where Bama beat them 42-13 the hounds will be unleashed.

...plus it will be 3 in a row....

It’s a shame for Bama to waste their bye week every year on a game they don’t care about or see as a threat.

When are they going to fix that?

I have LSU going 8-4 this season. You can’t build culture in nine months.

Hope this helps.

I predict the TigerRant will prove otherwise.

Ole Piss fans.... if you go 7-5 or worse, how fast do you use the "Pete is a first year HC" excuse?

You wouldn't know it from this board, Alabama fans talk about Lane/LSU more than Ole Miss fans.

I'm expecting something like 8-4 realistically.

Why do you think Kiffin will have a worse Year 1 than BK? Kiffin certainly has more talent on the roster and (arguably) better coordinators.

$40-50m roster or not, it’s unrealistic to expect a natty with a new administration, new roster, new coaches, new scheme, new culture, etc. If this was year 3 and we had a $40-50m roster, I’m expecting a natty.

This is not meant as a troll, but an observation. Over the past several seasons (Kiffin's most successful of his career) he built his roster through the portal, and not through the National signing day. Therefore to all of his new players they were always entering into the season with new coaches, new scheme, a new roster, new culture and new administration. Kiffin has brought in another huge class of transfer players, so he will be starting off with "his" players as much as he has the past several seasons.

His easily most productive players on last year's Ole Miss team was Trinidad Chambliss(QB), Kewan Lacey(RB), Harrison Wallace (WR), De'Zauhn Stribling(WR) ALL were first year transfer players.

So, why would LSU fans NOT think this will be a huge year? Your AD has supported him with money, and he went out and grabbed his players that he feels will fit his system. I would think his style lends itself to a huge, fast turnaround, and for him the old rue of "a coach should be successful in year three seems to be outdated when it comes to Kiffin.

As much woofing as they have done about the coaching hire and NIL boosters, anything less than an undefeated season ending with a national championship will be seen as an act of intentional betrayal by Lane to the Swamptards.

Not sure this is entirely fair to LSU fans, either. Every fan base is excited when they get a new coach (Just as Alabama was when they landed DeBoer), and Kiffin was the most sought after coach last year, so it is reasonable for them to be a little over the top excited. I doubt any of them expect to go undefeated, but it does seem odd to me (considering Kiffin's philosophy on how to build a roster through transfers) that they wouldn't expect big things in year one.

My biggest question is how they will react if he does not pan out over 2-3 seasons. LSU will have a roster full of transfers populated by kids from other programs and states instead of populated primarily with Louisiana talent when he leaves.

I still think it's wild that people come to what is essentially an LSU board and clutch their pearls over LSU fans here being excited.

The schedule, mostly. LSU has 10 P4 games and 5 SEC road games. Also, 8 games in 8 weeks.

Just in the first 4 games, they have Clemson, LA Tech, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M. Two playoff teams from last year and who knows what to expect out of Clemson.

LSU could potentially have two losses before October.

Ah, gotcha.

(Just to clarify, I wasn't trolling with my question. I was genuinely curious).

Those would be the trolls. We are all excited about new coaches. I think Lane Kiffin was a good hire. But I also wonder if he will stay at LSU for a long haul if he is successful. He hasn't stayed at any other place for an extended time frame, although LSU is more of a landing stop for coaches than a stepping stone, so maybe he will. Any way you slice it, Kiffin will bring excitement where ever he goes, and it will be fun watching him. His personality is transcendent, for better or worse.
