He’s an elite play caller and he’s only 50. For reference Saban joined LSU at 48. His record as a HC when he was in his 30s and early 40s is irrelevant to me as he is a different coach now vs then.

Why so excited for Kiffin? I

I imagine it is because LSU hired him as opposed to somebody else.

It would be fun to see what these same LSU fans all had to say about Kiffin three months ago.

You mean before he took a patchwork ole miss to 11-1?

Yea, I mean, winning leads to people believing in your ability as a coach. Crazy concept

Yes. Those 4-wide jet sweep reverses on 4th and 3 from his own 26 are a thing of beauty. Brilliant. Next level.

Did you see that fake field goal call against Clemson in the natty that Saban called? Jesus, what an idiot he is.

I love these threads because the retards really show themselves.

Let's do a simple exercise and look at all the active head coaches that have won a NC and their resume before being a head coach.

Ryan Day - assistant coach who hadn't won shite

Kirby Smart - assistant coach who hadn't won shite

Dabo Swinney - assistant coach who hadn't won shite

Are we seeing a theme here? There simply aren't a stable of head coaches sitting out there ready to be hired with legit winning experience.

Lane Kiffin has a better resume than all of those coaches before they were hired and probably has the best resume of any coach that could've legitimate been poached away. And he's in the prime of his career.

It's really not that hard to understand.

What does Indiana know about big games? Cignetti hasn’t played anyone the last two regular seasons, avoiding the top B1G teams. If he was a guru he wouldn’t be seeing success at the end of his career. Indiana has benefited from weak schedules.

hmmm, this is hard. ummm

he’s an elite play caller on Offense (see his total yards over the last decade vs any other offense)

he’s an elite recruiter (specifically out of the Portal)

and he just landed at an elite program who’s giving him unlimited power and an open checkbook.

what other questions do you have?

Ya'll just stop. We get it. Everyone is scared. It's ok. But stop with the retarded posts. We are happy to have LK. We know everyone else isn't happy about it. Ya'll are starting to look stupid.

First, nobody is scared of LSU with or without Kiffin. That’s funny in itself. Those of you with intelligent replies thank you, it makes more sense now. As for IU hiring Cignetti you are correct, nobody had any idea how it would work out but so far it’s been damn good. I like LSU and think college football is all the better when they do well. As for being a basketball school well the last two years speak for itself. Haven’t seen much of the Tigers in a major bowl…. That should change soon I think.

Lane was already a bad recruiter (not much of a player relationship guy), but now there is nationwide proof of him not giving a shite about his players. LSU recruits itself, but now Lane gives schools an easy way to negatively recruit against it/him.

Outside of Saban he is better than Miles and Coach O; and they won a National Championship while at LSU.

Who's a better Coach the guy in Indiana or Lane Kiffin? The guy at Indiana has done way better with almost zero talent. Kiffin has had four stars out the arse and he still loses to bad Kentucky teams and arkansas, etc?

How is it possible that this person can do so much with so little but Kiffin can't do the same? And this doesn't just go for him but this goes for pretty much every SEC coach.

He won a lot of games at lesser programs like FAU and Ole Miss, maybe he wins more with more resources.

It's the same reasoning as every coach that takes a better job.

I like the Kiffin hire, but that is just wrong.

Based on what Kiffin did at Tennessee, USC and Alabama, his "resume" is highly questionable. If I was hiring someone and they had that kind of shite on their resumes, I'd be concerned. He does have good potential, but let's not get carried away.
