Curiously:
Starkville is the closest SEC town to Baton Rouge.
State is also LSU's most played opponent [114 games].

Pretty good. That D is going to give Ole Miss fits. I'm thinking LSU wins
27-17.

I think Ole Miss wins by two touchdowns.
Everyone's hyping up this LSU defense and while there were some great plays on the ball against Florida, I'm not impressed with their Clemson win and I'm still not impressed with their Florida, in particular their offense seems to be struggling against subpar teams.
Are offensive line has been playing better but I'm not sold especially on their pass protection. Their run blocking has actually been pretty good and honestly the running back we have this year is better than Judkins, he leads the nation in yards after contact and broken tackles at that position.
I think both Arkansas and Tulane would put up a fight if not win out right against Clemson and Florida.
Our defensive line is serviceable but not spectacular and we do seem to struggle at getting pressure on the quarterback.
If it comes down to a field goals I'd take our kicker any day that guy is money.
Secondary has actually looked better than I thought, so I think the defense will do enough to win the game and I think our offense will have no problem moving the ball this is the least worried I've been about a LSU game in at least 10 years.

Sure, but LSU is giving up 9 points a game. None of the offenses have looked good against other competition, but they were still held far below their scoring averages. I baked this stuff into my guess that Ole Miss would score in the 20s.
And Ole Miss’s defense may stink, but LSU’s offense has struggled a ton too. They’re specifically weak on the offensive line, which should still be exploitable. Southeastern freaking Louisiana was giving the OL fits with some basic stunts and twists… granted, they didn’t actually get home very often, and LSU torched them through the air whenever they didn’t. But if SLU can do that, Ole Miss’s faster athletes might actually get to Nussmeier.
I really don’t know what to think here lol. I feel very confident LSU’s ceiling is high enough to win this game by 14+ if they play near perfectly. I also feel like the floor is low enough to lose by 10+. I think LSU is the slightly better team, but I just don’t know what we’re gonna get.

I think our defense is good enough to keep us in every game.
I have major concerns with the OL.

LSU is a ticking time bomb. Aside from the secondary and Nuss, all of the other position groups are extremely undisciplined. Here's where they grade out nationally.
RB 114 WR/TE 76 PBLK 52 RBLK 129
Pass Rush 48 Run Def 55 Tackling 90
They've played highly flawed teams thus far and gotten away with it due to having a talent advantage, but when they play a disciplined team with similar talent they'll get blown out. Kind of surprising to see a Brian Kelly team so poorly coached

quote:You are hilarious. You beat a bad Kentucky team by only 7, an Arkie team with a bad defense (and you lucked out that guy fumbled at the end or you lose that), and Toolame, and you puff out your chest like your wins are amazing. But your defense is not anywhere close to the elite unit it was last year. Our offense is basically the same though (same struggles running but good passing). Your offense is good, but our defense is light years better than it was last year. BTW you lost last year. But you are going to win by 2 TDS.
I'm not impressed with their Clemson win and I'm still not impressed with their Florida

The game could really go either way, and I will, at no point, be confident enough to talk any kind of shite. The game being in Oxford will be a factor that may be worth a few points.
How are y’all feeling?
If we hold the opponent to 20 or under, we will win.
Strong defense would mean multiple possessions without stress to produce, and sooner or later Nuss will synch up with his WRs and start producing.
Conversely, if someone can go up and down the field on us and score a lot, the offense either cranks up to match, or it implodes trying to, and I'm leery that the latter would be the case.
Frankly, I see this being the formula for every game on our schedule, including playoffs if we make them; if the defense holds, we eventually pull it out. If it doesn't we get rolled.

Old Miss gets an early lead. Lane stupids himself out of needed points. Harold Perkins and Whit Weeks terrorize Chambliss and Old Miss offense stalls. LSU shuts them down in the 2nd half (1st string has not given up a point in the second half all year). Nuss and the Tigers get it together and Tigers win by double digits

LSU defense is overrated...hasnt played a good offense yet
LSU offense is terrible and will not be able to run on Ole Miss
LSU doesnt handle running qbs, in fact Jalen Milroe and Marcel Reed are still running down the side lines a year later
LSU is a paper tiger.....literally no possible way they win this game
Kiffin has turned into the new saban and BK will never get a win against him ever.
Ole Miss 42 LSU 6......ole miss kneels at the 3 to have mercy on the tigers
OLE MISS CAN NOT LOSE!!!

Told everyone we were not beating ole miss. Brian Kelly is garbage and he flat out doesn’t fit in the SEC. Prepare for more disappointment folks bc South Carolina QB will scramble just like ole miss QB. LSU has a terrible oline and running game. One dimensional offense is not winning games in the SEC. This is going to be a long painful season.
