Hiring a head coach, ANY head coach, is an absolute crap shoot. Paying Sexton to win a press conference with money better spent on players and coordinators is insanity that can only be contemplated by ivory tower admins with no grounding in day to day economics.

If LSU did get Lane, it would be like stealing someone else's wife. Yeah you may have won her over but a relationship that begins with infidelity is doomed from the start. And id personally donate to the BK buyout fund to watch it happen.

As a Mizzou fan, with all this turmoil of head coaching vacancies, somebody important told me not to worry about all these jobs openings outside of Penn St. I asked why, and he said "Because Eli is not a client of Jimmy Sexton" and he feels Jimmy already knows whose going where south of the Mason Dixob line, including Florida State, when the music stops playing.

This was the reason I wasn’t gung ho on Arkansas hiring him, it wasn’t a matter of if he’d leave but when. But he may fool us all and hang around for awhile.

Franchione was a con man and eventually got exposed. However, I think the way he left Alabama for A&M doomed him from the start.
