Dunno why people say he couldn't "beat out" Jefferson or lee. There was no competition to begin with. I guess cam newton couldn't "beat out" Tim tebow as well huh? It's not like a quarterback just learning the system is gonna start over two seniors. Lighten up dumbasses

Yea ...I can see why you would think this. All those games he cost Bama and all.

Only one of these posts was the overreaction that you describe. Guess which one.

I probably wouldn't because of Mett's upside, but McCaron showed he was way more than "serviceable" in the NC game.

Dude's much better than I thought.

It depends on whether you're willing to trade upside/potential for someone that's already proven he can be clutch, but who's less talented overall.

He was a damn sight better than the product we marched out on the field. Hellen Keller could have done better

The OP was comparing Zach and AJ, not JJ. We'd been better off running the wishbone with Shep than JJ.

Hellen Keller would have done no worse than JJ. After all she was blind. Oh him too...

AJ for JJ? Absolutely. For Mett? No

I wouldn't trade QB's with bama, but I would trade game plans for the NC game. It is a lot easier to throw on first down, when there are 8-9 on the line, I wish we would figure that out...

I have no reason to expect the offense to not pick up where we left off last year. It may even be a little more effective with Davis back and a more experienced O-line and QB. Playbook hasn't changed and Paul Petrino is more than capable off calling the plays; especially with 5th year senior all-sec QB Tyler Wilson under center.

IMO...I would think most of the answers...right or wrong....would not be objective.

But...having said that....I like this answer.
Seems honest....

I'm sure Mett is going to be fine, but saying that I like our QB because he has shown he can win, Wilson knows how to win and is tough as nails.

Here's to a good season guys

I bet Miles didn't even give Mett a chance last year. Miles is loyal to his upper classmen....

I hear there is alot of truth to this.

This is a tough question for people to really grasp IMO... My 100% non-homer UNbiased answer is AJ without a doubt. Mett is unproven, you can talk potential all you want but AJ has just as much potential at 6'4 215lbs. Mett will not have the mobility of AJ either (neither are great). He has not been the field general of a National Championship winning team (not flaming). Mett could be a beast but i've got to take a "for sure" 7 over a "could be" 9. JMO..

It's like when your school signs a new 5* recruit, a lot of times we go crazy and automatically think this person will step in and walk into a starting role and (most of the time) that is just not the case. Experience is huge in college, especially at the QB position.

Accuracy and decision making are 10 times more important at the college level. With him being unable to beat Jefferson or Lee for the starting job and those two QB's being completely inept, this has to concern any LSU fan thinking objectively.

Tired of hearing this. I think Miles knew he could put Mett in and he would of been a very serviceable Qb for us. But he also knew his 2 Sr QBs could do it too. And he was right...give 'em credit 13 wins is hardly something to sniff at. I promise you talent had nothing to do with reason Mett didn't start last year.
