I think its a national game this year and moving forward as long as Kiffin is there and OM is good (TBD).

But ND has USC, Michigan, Navy etc that people generationally have tuned in for.

If LSU loses their deep south rivalries as they would going independent what games do they have to sell to Fox?

Playing Louisiana Tech, who isn't even that bad and an in state opponent, is being aired on the shittiest network possible with the 2nd lowest get in price behind only Delaware and Vandy. Charlotte @ Ole Miss and Southern Miss @ Auburn have more national appeal than La Tech-LSU.

And this is when LSU fan/outside interest should be near it's absolute peak given all of the recent drama involving them and it being Lane's 2nd game. Now imagine LSU's draw with that happening 12x per year

OP is dumb and was likely on meth last night.

I don't think they are going to give LSU the boot. I could see a fine and possibly a suspension for Kiffin for a few games. I just think they want to confirm through the court that they have the ability to kick out a team if the rest of the conference wants them out.

If this was an actual requirement, LSU would be up shite creek.

LSU, Notre Dame, and the top ACC schools would form a nice conference:

LSU
Notre Dame
Miami
UNC
Clemson
FSU
Stanford
Cal
SMU
Louisville

LSU's tv worth is probably about half that of Notre Dame's.

Even if LSU could keep a similar schedule to what they've been playing as an independent, their value would only be $30 million or so a year to Amazon or Netflix.

But here's the thing... the SEC would surely institute a scheduling ban against LSU. So LSU's schedule would likely end up being a bunch of directional Sunbelt teams, and no enterprise is going to pay $30 million for those games.

This is why it would be nearly impossible for LSU to get any deal whatsoever.

Also leaving the SEC would absolutely destroy basketball and baseball at LSU.
