We are somewhere between 3rd and 5th in SEC history, depending on who you ask.

Definitely behind Alabama and Tennessee. Definitely ahead of Auburn.

How you rank Georgia, Florida, and LSU depends on preference. I rank LSU ahead of Florida, and have us basically dead even with Georgia.

Historical perspective shows that there are seasons in which Bama scheduled an extra SEC game (VANDY) and were awarded the SEC championship due to having an extra W in the column...even if they lost a head to head matchup with second place team and had same number of conference losses. We should also note that Bama forced their biggest rival and other SEC schools to play neutral site conference games at Legion Field for decades. No arguing that Bama isn't number 1 obviously but you have to look at the other big 6 teams differently knowing the extra advantages that Bama had.

LSU's SEC schedule was State, Ole miss(at least they were a decent foe for a little bit), Kentucky, UF(before they were good), and Bama. You weren't playing UGA, UT, or Auburn too frequently. Meanwhile, they were playing each other regularly.

Maybe I'm wrong but I thought that was their home games like ole miss and State playing home games in Jackson where LSU played a lot.

-------------------------------------------

There was one season in which Bama won an SEC title outright rather than sharing because of an extra game. The other team could have done the same. Coach Bryant always wanted to play more SEC games, the other team shied away. Bama did not add Vandy, they were on their regular schedule. Vandy had a large 19-7-1 lead in their series against AU at the time of that season - 1972.

Rather than playing big games as true home games at BDS, they played them at a neutral site, rather than at home. No one but AU minded. AU didn't mind playing at a neutral site at first, but as Bama continued their domination, AU had to whine about something as a distraction. The reason Bama and AU ended up with their games was primarily for money and AU wanted the advantage of a home field.

You are so insecure - you have to lie about another program, rather than pump your own. You are a top 20 program historically and have moved up to number 6 in the SEC. You should be proud of that.

Louisiana is going to produce some of the best talent coming out of high school and most of the top ones come to lsu. I'm not too worried about bouncing back,

Yet, the 1990s still happened.

From an overall/historical standpoint, LSU is the only SEC school ranked in the top 4/5 in all 3 major sports.

OP didn't say football program, so this is the overall athletic program rankings.

Football would be a different list.

Huh, LSU is not a top 4/5 team in basketball or football. I'l give you baseball, but even that is more recent success

What schools have had SEC titles taken away? We had '84 taken back after the fact and '85 & '90 were disallowed during the season even though we won it on the field. So I give us 11 which is the same number as LSU, 1 less than Uga and 2 less than 10rc.
