You make it sound like Louisiana is the only place in America that gets hurricanes.

La has had more than its share the past few years.

The difference is Louisiana is a lower class of people that can not, or will not rebuild afterward.

This is about as fuc*ing false as can be.

I wish they would stop coming here , if we’re being honest. Carpetbaggers are worse than locusts.

This should be read at every opening of every session on the Louisiana state house. Posed on every door of the capital. It is 100% accurate

Yes Louisiana has been experiencing hurricanes since time began, but Louisiana was never hit with major hurricanes (cat 3 or higher)in back to back years like 2020 and 2021. In the past 30 years Louisiana has only been hit its 4 major hurricanes, Rita, Katrina, ida, and Laura. And after each storm Louisiana lost population. Many get tired of rebuilding. After Katrina alone, Louisiana lost 100,000+ residents after the levees broke in New Orleans.

We are starting to get an influx of people here in Mississippi (not necessarily a good thing because we have done a good job of fooling people into thinking it is bad here) because of housing costs.

Have had several people (retirees especially but younger people too) move here because the house they bought here was about a quarter of the cost of the house they just sold. Cost of living low, nice home, great people here and money in the bank. What is not to like about that?

Plus great location. If you want to travel , easy weekend getaways are just a few hours away in just about any direction.

crazy how many good football players we have gotten over the years from south east texas. But a lot of them are just Katrina refugees.

LSU qualifies as “higher education” in that state. Pretty self explanatory

Yeah, it would be nice if the yankees could stay up above the Mason-Dixon. In their defense I don't want to live in any of those northeastern or rust belt states myself.

Florida can have a hurricane hit the panhandle and the major population areas not feel it.

A major hits Louisiana and it hits both population areas.

A hurricane hits Florida, and they get 6-10' storm surge, maybe. A friggin tropical storm does that in Louisiana. A major dumps 15-20'.

Much stricter building codes in Florida too.
That's because they have leadership Louisiana lacks.

Horrible State and Local governments. Corruption is a tradition here and the citizens put up with it. The smart people leave before they get to old and set down roots.

Auburn and Baldwin County are other spots in Alabama that are booming too! Auburn has incredible public schools and of course, the beach is attracting people to Baldwin county.

Baldwin county has seen a large influx of people from Mobile County, which has gone to shite.

Attracting retirees to the coast and industry/jobs to the Upstate/Charleston. Make it stop.

Insurance/hurricanes are a big driver

New Orleans itself has just continuously gone downhill as well.
