My biggest issue with the Louisiana refugees is they do not want to work and live off everyone who does.

They believe the government encourages behavior that causes it. The rampant use of needles and unsafe sex.

Now that is their words, not mine. Dealing with people from Louisiana, so who knows.

True.

But when they wipe out entire cities it takes years to recover from that. Lake Charles had a population of about 100k and got absolutely decimated. McNeese is still recovering. It’s a very slow process when everyone needs help. Sometimes it’s just better to relocate.

Huntsville is nice but it's not like Birmingham and Montgomery are desirable places.

Birmingham’s OTM area is 180,000+ people that cumulatively have a median household income nearly 60% higher than the national average. Its percentage of people with a bachelors degree is also twice the national average.

It’s literally one of the largest concentrations of wealth in the South with excellent public schools.

There is NO industry in Florida, wages are crap and the cost of living is going up exponentially. I know loads of folks in the Panhandle, in south florida and in the first coast region who are either actively planning their escape or talking more and more about it.

100% accurate. Wages here blow, even in Miami.

My brother and I were talking about this earlier actually, specifically related to NOLA and the metro area.

LA is a weird state for the middle class. The public schools suck, the job market is tough, and the infrastructure is horrible. If you’re not concerned with schools, have a good job, and don’t really care about the infrastructure things are great.

Likewise, if you’re poor (and want to stay poor) and don’t give a shite about things like schools, infrastructure, or the job market, LA is a great place to get all the benefits one needs.

Very true. If you love to hunt and fish and give zero fricks about that other important stuff, it is heaven. Plus golf is legit if you have enough money to go private and not play with the poors.

Does LA have great golf? I rarely play and suck so I don't follow the sport that much. I know people specifically retire in AL because of the Robert Trent Jones Trail and other places in FL and SC are same. Was just wondering if LA was a top golf destination or just a place with warmer weather.

We have some good courses but overall we’re well below the other states in the south.

Our topography is really difficult for elite courses. North LA is a little more favorable but S.LA is relatively boring for courses.

Crime and trashy culture

Don't worry - it will soon spread to other nearby states. Just give it time.

Yup. The middle class IMO is under attack across the country.

Look at what they’re teaching kids in public schools now. They will force you to go private or your kids will be exposed to the bullshite.

Some really legit golf in NE LA and SE AR if you have money. A few I would stack against any in the South. Seriously.
