Loonardi’s Bracket: I’m sorry, but how in hell is A&M still a 7 seed?

For Pete’s sake, how much weight does he put on games played 3-4 months ago when teams are still figuring crap out?

I’m not arguing we should be a 3 or something, but this just seems personal.

Because you sucked outside of SEC, you’re 23 in NET, your SOS is 41, and you have 2 quad 4 losses

This isnt football

He’s factoring in the expected committee a-hole factor since Buzz called them out last year

They didn’t like Wade and we always got underseeded

Bracket Matrix (composite of all available projections) has A&M as a 6 if it makes you feel any better. LINK

Don’t let Lunardi or the selection committee fool you into thinking seeding isn’t very correlated to the AP rankings. Come into the season with a less than stellar outlook ranking wise, and without a schedule for opportunity to expose those rankings, then you will be in an uphill battle to gain deserved recognition. A&M is a 4-5 seed at worst.

All games should be weighed equally when determining seeding.

I think A&M should continue scheduling shitty arse OOC teams and then losing to them every year so they can cry about seeding come March.

Or.....

They could fix their scheduling and quit buying up all the Kleenex

Yeah I guess we should quit scheduling and kicking the arse of those shitty ranked Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn and Arkansas teams because they are obviously meaningless to Lunardi. With a # 18 AP ranking there should be no way A&M isn’t at least a #5 seed. The committee screwed A&M last year and is trying again this year.

Not meaningless, they just hold the same weight as your non conference struggles.

What were you thinking? A 4 or 5 seed?

I think A&M can make a little run.

That’s the bullshite factor in the NCAA selection process. So if A&M had played preseason all around #1 North Carolina in December, that game should count equally with playing #2 SEC champion Alabama with everything at stake? That’s the bullshite factor, a victory against a quad 1 team at the end of the year is way more significant than a quad 1 win in December that could be total bullshite against team way overrated. UNC is 19-12, now unranked, likely to miss the NCAA and Bama is a likely #1 seed. Wins and losses in December really aren’t any indicator of a team’s strengths. Look at the rankings in week 8 for proof.

No, because that game with North Carolina isn't viewed as beating a #1 team. It's viewed as beating a bubble team that is #44 in the NET. If you'd won that game at home it wouldn't even be a Q1 win. It would hold the same value as beating #45 Liberty or #46 Mississippi State. On the flip sid, Alabama is #2 in the NET.

How was everything at stake? It was just a regular season game. There was nothing other than "we're playing a good team at home" at stake.
