Yet we’d still have him if he had beat either Vandy or Louisville. He laid eggs in both. If Carolina gets to 6-6 he will be back.

I think you need the opposite.

Of course they would do this.

I am willing to bet they will allow Beamer a sacrificial lamb, either Clayton White or Torian Gray, tomorrow. We will see, I know I’m pretty much done with this shite.

Ed O and Gene Chizik have national title rings. Coaches don’t tackle or score touchdowns.

Ed O won becasue he had great coordinators and the same is true for Gene Chizik who had Gus.

As soon as those coordinators left - they went to shite despite having the same levels of talent.

Coaches are like a multiplier and it's dumb to think they aren't worth a lot. If anything, we should increase coordinator pay if it means getting/keeping better ones.

You don't travel much. USCe are some of the most normal college football fans out there. How is it delusional to want to be competitive. I hope you guys get it turned around.

You have florida, then a bye week.

Beat florida, keep beamer.

Lose to florida, interim coach gets 2 weeks to prepare. Pretty straightforward

They are overthinking this. It is a 3 question analysis.

Who was responsible for allocating the resources to assemble the team?

Did that person win more than 4 games in 2025?

Will that person win more than 4 games in 2026?

Great ones are a multiplier but since coaches are free agents not assets owned by the “franchise” like in the NFL, average ones get incredibly inflated pay.

The NFL model is the right one: just churn in young guys or desperate retreads every 3-5 years until you hit then lock em up. Edit: but that is impossible because the allure of just sniping someone’s potentially great one is too high and nothing exists to prevent it from happening.

The NFL's main priority is to make money. It's not even a sport. They do not develop players, they take the top players from college football who were developed there. They don't even want a guy until he's been out of high school for at least 3 years.

Most coaches have buyouts. It's a complete myth that coaches are just free agents.

The biggest thing that lead to Saban not winning more national championships at the end was he struggled to keep getting quality coordinators.

People seem to think coaches just show up on Saturdays, but they put more effort, time and energy than anyone else in the program. They are responsible for the entire program, over 100 kids and the list goes on and on. It's an extreme amount of responsibilities and only people without any such responsibilities could remotely think it was easy and that they are over paid.

NIL is only 6 years into it, and we've already seen teams spend a shite ton of money and then waste it because of coaching. Hell, we saw Mack Brown do it at Texas after the 2009 season with his star chasing and wishy washy decisions about the direction of the program.

You need players who fit a scheme, they need to be on the same page, you need a team. And the only thing that can really create that is a coach.

Beamer did well until last season. Went 9-4 in 2024.

His record is about on par with USCe historical level of success

Ole Ball Coach ain’t walking through those doors. I’d give Beamer another year to get back to a winning season

Even with a salary cap on player salaries and a lack of one on coach salaries, the chiefs are paying Patrick mahomes way more than Andy Reid.
There isn’t a professional sport in the world that pays coaching staffs more than the players, except for college football.

NFL coaches do not have the same responsibilities.

Far from it in fact.

Brian Kelly would be a substantial upgrade over Beamer.

Hell, SC fans were clamoring for James Franklin last year, too.
