Jarvis Moss against SCar in 06. Blocked an XP and the potential game-winning FG to keep us in the hunt for the BCS title game.

Pretty much every game that Kyler Murray won in 2018. The defense was horrendous that year. Without Murray we might have won 3 or 4 games total.
Closed out the regular season giving up 46 to Texas Tech, 47 to Oklahoma State, 40 to freakin' Kansas, and 56 to WVU. Certainly would have lost all of those without Murray.
That is why I am confident about OU's future. We've turned our defenses around. With decent or even adequate defense in 2017 or 2018 we very likely could have won two national titles. Our offenses were that good - put up 34 on Bama after trailing 21-0 in first quarter (given, Alabama may have lost some intensity) and 48 on Georgia (45 in regulation).

always thought the defense was the bigger star in this game. Cam made some great plays, but it wasn't really a great offensive game from him. The Auburn D completely shutting Alabama down in the second half was pretty damn impressive
All of this.
Say what you will about Nick Fairley, but he was a beast upfront for AU. They owned Bama in that 2nd half.
The writing was on the wall at the end of the 2nd half with the AU hail Mary TD. Bama was looking at the scoreboard and didn't re-focus until it was too late.

Citation:
Total defensive rankings:
2020 - 28
2019 - 64
2018 - 101
2017 - 68
2016 - 69
More importantly points given up (wasn't able to find scoring defense so this is by total points):
2020 - 34
2019 - 67
2018 - 95
2017 - 57
2016 - 63
And turnovers margin went from a huge negative to a positive. Forced turnovers went way up. Defensive recruiting has been up as well.
Not saying this is an Alabama or 2001 or 1985 OU defense but they made huge strides next year and should be solid this year.

He'd failed a drug test that week too but Urban waited to suspend him against Western Carolina the next week.

Can’t spike the basketball. Besides, the officials gifted y’all at least two calls down the stretch.

Shaun Alexander vs LSU comes to mind too.
I was at that game and, as a freshman, he ran over, through and around the LSU defense. LSU’ s D could not stop him.

This player wasn't solely the reason for the win, but played an enormous role on and off the field - Sam “Bam” Cunningham in the 1970 Alabama - Southern Cal game, won by Southern Cal, 42-21.

2016 LSU. Daniel Carlson scored all of our points and in a matter of minutes it went from LSU celebrating a win to auburn winning cause LSU didn't get the play off in time or something. Think this was the game that got Les fired

Chris Capps, Auburn over Alabama in 2005

I attended LSU-Tennessee 2001 after 9/11 in Knoxville.
Kelly Washington (Tenn) was unstoppable. Tip of hat to Kelly Washington vs. LSU.
If pre-game was a score, LSU 42 - Tenn 10. The party reached zenith levels. LSU tailgating was bad azz that game. I promise you.
Oh well.
