Let's Talk About the Elephant in the Room Here Regarding Kiffin

I understand that the LSU fans are giddy about this court decision. This is unwise, and the reason why has been stated many times, but whatever. LSU got a temporary win, but meanwhile the SEC is showing that they are going to fight for conference and institutional control. Don't count your chickens yet, guys.
But enough about that. What about the risk versus reward situation here. What does LSU actually gain here if everything shakes out in their favor? Two dudes who weren't going to make it in the NFL? The SEC is full of guys like this, on every team.
Now, what do they stand to lose? Well, potentially a lot. They can potentially be expelled from the conference and end up forfeiting games played this season if everything goes poorly.
So my question is, just how much cocaine does Lane Kiffin use? Does he understand what a risk/reward analysis even is? Because it sounds to me like his time in Florida convinced him he is Tony Montana and he does this simply because he finds it funny.

Unfortunately for the sec they can’t do that because they didn’t when the same thing happened to Bama and Bediako.

It's not that they didn't make the NFL. It's that they weren't going to make it in the NFL. There is a difference and you know it.

The Alabama Bediako situation was actually much worse if you care enough to know the details. Bediako chose to leave college for professional basketball KNOWING he had collegiate eligibility left. Had a contract with an NBA team and played MULTIPLE seasons in the NBA G league.
Any yet, the SEC chose not to punish Alabama for allowing him to play in multiple SEC games based on a TRO.

I double dog dare you to listen to what Sankey said on the stand today. Absolute embarrassment he didn’t know what 5 for 5 was until today.

While not ideal, the SEC needs LSU more than LSU needs the SEC. Any other conference would write LSU a blank check to join their conference. So ok expel them and in the process destroy your conference because I promise you, Sankey would frick it all up.

10 years later? Who cares. Les Miles received vacated games and I couldn’t even tell you which ones and no one else could either.

He’s taking advantage of a broken system that desperately needs control. By doing this, something will finally be done with NIL, transfer portal, etc. Just so happens to be LSU and Kiffin.

You couldn’t just reply to 1 of the other 17 threads you started tonight?

Teams across the SEC have players who participated in NFL training, didn't make the cut and are now BACK on SEC teams
But apparently you only get your panties twisted about LSU

Look, let's not do whataboutisms, ok? The rules are the rules. The Alabama situation is different because the rules were different. Take the example of NIL, you used to not be able to pay players and now you can. You can't retroactively go back and UNpunish programs who were caught paying players simply because it is now ok to pay them. Unfortunately for LSU they are trying to do this too. Which is going to factor in on the SECs ultimate decision whether to allow them to stay in the SEC or not even if they won't come out and admit it.

Seen alot of posters ask about whether the juice is worth the squeeze but ask yourself the inverse.
Is it really a big frickin deal if LSU gets two guys that, if the ncaa had released the 5for5 in February, would never have been considered "ineligible"?
Should LSU allow itself to be singled out by spineless corporate shite heel greed monsters who dont enforce rules equally and fairly?

No it’s not or someone just perjured themselves. They said today the rule has always existed and all they did was further clarify.

You were wrong and have a hard time accepting it. We established this in another dumb thread you posted. STTDB

Look man, this isn't difficult. It wasn't against the rules when Alabama did it and now it is against the rules. It's as simple as that. Just like how you can't go back and UNpunish LSU and Will Wade for paying players when it wasn't allowed.

Bediako was seen as player going to the courts and getting one. An individual player. When the TRO was over, Alabama stopped playing him.
Personally, I don't think he should have played and Alabama shouldn't have played him to begin with. If they had to forfeit those games, I would say it was 100% deserved.
That is not what the lawsuit against LSU and Kiffin is about. LSU and Kiffin are accused of a deliberate and coordinated campaign to recruit multiple pro players. You have used the local courts to get rulings in your way.
The SEC tried to address the issue by clarifying the rules and the SEC members voted 15-0 that even with the recent changes, this was the way they wished to go. That was the SEC's nice way of saying - please don't do this.
LSU should have ended it there. They did not. LSU has gone even further in defiance of the conference and it's other members.
And that is what the federal case will be about. Not about who is eligible, but about LSU trying to use the courts to overturn league rules.
The entire rest of the conference is currently united against you. That didn't happen randomly.

And I notice that nobody wants to address the actual question. It seems to me that the rumors out of Ole Miss and Lane using coke are probably true. Otherwise none of this decision making process makes even a little bit of logical sense.

They might stand if the SEC didn’t make the rule until after the players were granted a TRO from the NCAA. Rule should have been in place long before this.
Oh, you say there’s always been a rule you can’t play professionals? Define what a professional is? Well if he says anything other than he doesn’t know he perjures himself in Louisiana. You don’t think that judge is out for blood were he to openly change what he said?

Ok why? I’m under the impression that sec membership can be terminated without cause by a 12 member vote
