No LSU isn't getting kicked out but their admin is foolish for not telling Kiffin no. There may be serious repercussions. Pissing off the League office is dumbassery of the highest level.
He'll either play the players or he won't.
If he does, you can just assume they're getting away with it because no way is LSU taking any risks over these two players.

The Alabama situation is different because the rules were different.
Yes the rules were different, pro players were allowed in the SEC before right?
Even if you were to work under the assumption that “the rules were different”
Why didn’t the schools and Sankey come together to condemn and make a specific rule when bama was playing a pro player? Why did they wait until LSU tried it? Seems at best arbitrary and at worst discriminatory

The big bad League Office who walked tall but carried no stick?
The SEC has been exposed for the cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-arse, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey shite it is!
The empty threats of expulsion was their nuclear option, and it failed. Now they are reduced to relying on the Federal Court System make LSU understand that they are in charge and LSU has listen to them. Like a 7 year old getting her parents to make the 5 year old listen to her.
Except these hapless morons think that filing in Alabama means they at least will have home field advantage. The case will almost certainly be transferred to the Federal Court's Louisiana jurisdiction.
And what guaranteed that transfer (although preventing it would have been way too difficult for the SEC representation to pull off any way) is the fact that they named the LSU BOS as defendants. Morons.

The risk —SEC kicks LSU out
Reward—Big 10 picks up LSU and establishes a footprint in the South
Is that what the SEC wants ?

Now, what do they stand to lose? Well, potentially a lot. They can potentially be expelled from the conference and end up forfeiting games played this season if everything goes poorly.

SU got a temporary win, but meanwhile the SEC is showing that they are going to fight for conference and institutional control.
No, the SEC called attention to the double standard, hypocrisy, sanctimony and obfuscation of the NCAA and major conferences. As the judge stated (paraphrased) in his ruling the line delineating professionals is non-existent between an athlete being paid in college or the NFL or MLB, etc, citing the example of $190 expense money form the NFL vs a seven figure compensation from a collective.
The SEC and other conferences are just using the same playbook that the NCAA has used for decades. They have played lip service to the "welfare of the student athlete". Hell it wasn't until about 14 years ago that they allowed colleges to provide athletes with unlimited nutrition/meals or pay stipends to cover the full cost of attendance. Kids from disadvantaged backgrounds got a scholarship/ room and board but no allowance for living expenses. Welfare my arse.
Sankey showed that he's a buffoon and an incompetent leader.
I would prefer to LSU not to roster the players even though I think it's unfair
especially since other schools in the SEC have players who were in mini-camps but are allowed to play.
It looks like LSU is not backing down and faces the threat of censure, expulsion. Frankly, I no longer give a damn. If they blow it up, so be it.
If the conference goes forward with this draconian measure, it's they and you who get a temporary win.

Unfortunately for the sec they can’t do that because they didn’t when the same thing happened to Bama and Bediako.
That was done and over with before the 16 voting members of the SEC even met on it.
The 16 members of the SEC have met about this. They made their thoughts on this clear with a unanimous 16-0 vote. Even LSU voted in favor of prohibiting players who have signed a NFL contract.
But how can we expect LSU fans like yourself to comprehend the situation when you aren’t even able to comprehend what the SEC is.

The SEC said it WAS against the rules then, in the suit they filed against LSU, on Thursday at midnight.
You should post less, and read more.

Kiffin won't make the decision on if they play or not. that's what the athletic director is for. LSU also has lawyers that will advise them. you people are making this seem like Kiffin started this whole process. 322 college athletes are the ones who sued the NCAA and the SEC, not Kiffin or LSU. learn the facts instead of just running your mouth thinking you know the whole story. I get it, you don't like Kiffin but you and a thousand other butt hurt idiots won't change the outcome.
Posted on 9/4/26 at 6:39 am to countrytiger60
Kiffin instigated it. That is why he and LSU are both being sued by the SEC
Posted on 9/4/26 at 6:40 am to michael corleone
Once again, LSU doesn’t have remotely the academic prestige for the B1G. Maybe you should look at the entrance requirements for that league. Or are you idiots truly that stupid? Maybe an LSU degree really should be used as TP.

Pros were not allowed. But at the time they had not defined what a pro basketball player was. Was a g-league player considered a pro? There was not a rule or a court ruling to say. Now there is a rule that spells it out. And a court ruling, out of Tuscaloosa mind you, that said so as well. So now there is a rule and a court ruling defining it.

It happened quickly, before all 16 university presidents or chancellors could all meet to discuss.

I think college football and sports in general have already been "fundamentally" changed.
The line of who's a professional has not been blurred, it's been blown away.
You need an electron microscope to split the hairs Sankey is trying to split.
Texas player is eligible because, although he attended a mini camp, he never got offered a contract but a player who received $190 in expense money and attended a mini-camp is ineligible? That selective prosecution, arbitrary and capricious. Meanwhile Coleman is receiving 3.5 million but he's just an "amateur".
I would say that Kiffin is just telling it like it is. In fact, he's saying the same things now that he said when he was at Ole Miss.
Like I said, an empty Tiger Stadium on Saturday nights would be a sad day for college football even if you dudes don't want to admit it.

Expcept retardo the SEC said it wasn’t anything new and just clarification on an existing rule. It was always against the rules. I know you want to deflect away from the SECs inconsistency but it’s just real and it’s going to have to get through your safety helmet eventually.
