We visited Abidjan, Ivory Coast today. While not a bad visit, most of the sites we had hoped to see were missed for various reasons. One of the best changes was a visit to the Governor's House as described on the cruise ship excursion sheet. I guess nobody bothered to check and see the house is now an orphanage? Another poor western African country, makes one happy to have the means to do things these unfortunate people will never have.

Completed a couple more blogs. These two are for Luanda, Angola and Sao Tome. We had short excursions for both of these countries and enjoyed both days. It is sad to see poverty, which is what we expected doing western Africa due to the Middle East itinerary diversion. But although there is poverty the people in these cities are always smiling and happy to see us visiting their cities. It is like they are poor, but don't know it?
I hope both posts came out okay as I attempted to add videos to both. Let me know if you have any questions, comments or suggestions.

Just curious, you still hanging occasionally with Verne?
I see he and his wife every couple of days and speak to him. We have some sea days coming up so we will try and have dinner with the two of them again.

I was able to get the next two blogs up for May 19th and May 20th. The Wi-Fi is not cooperating because of issues with StarLink and the African continent, so we had to limit the number of videos used in the blog. Hopefully once we receive better Wi-Fi or when we get home (are we going home? ??) I will upload better videos.

am retiring in about eleven years and you seriously have me thinking about a cruise like this. I just don't if I could go this long though. Myself and the wife love our animals too much. I am enjoying your write ups and updates on here though.
Thank you for following along. We certainly understand about the pets. We had four dogs and have had three pass in the last two years ages 18, 18, and 17. We have one left age 16 and have a house sitter who cares for the dog.
The cruise has past quickly and we are approaching five weeks to go. We have enjoyed it enough to seriously consider booking again in 2027. I think we will pull the trigger and get it booked on one of the upcoming sea days.

Here are the first three days of our overland excursion to Chobe Game Lodge and Victoria Falls. I am having to post the videos blind because of the poor Wi-Fi on the ship. Let me know if these are not loading for you. Thank you!!!

With those sea days starting out, I’d be on a first name basis with all of the blackjack dealers within days.
Then they’d probably never see me again after the first few weeks because I either ran out of spendable money or was forcibly stopped!
Sadly, no craps table on the ship, but then again, I might be broke by now. There are two blackjack tables running at $25 a hand so the tables are usually empty.

Spent today in Maputo, Mozambique. Again, surprised by a port as we were expecting something much different. Sadly, the rain caused us to miss things and return back to the ship earlier than we wanted.

Is sea sickness generalized? Meaning I had never got sick sick then boom out of no where I did.. Are the wristbands with the plastic white bead still the best preventative?
I have been on many cruises and also have been fishing a number of times and never have been seasick. One of the people we met on the cruise had never been seasick either his entire life and about a month ago started getting seasick. Someone had the wristbands and he started wearing those and has been doing much better.
He developed a dental abscess and I wonder if f this is creating his seasick issues.

The cruise has been great. There have been a few disappointments but overall it is difficult to complain about an ATW trip. Thank you for following our journey.

We visited Nosy Be, Madagascar today. Certainly is not what we are used to back home.

We had four sea days so I got lazy and did not update the blog but hope to catch up tomorrow. Today was a visit to Victoria, Seychelles. A beautiful island with some magnificent beaches and surprise visit with huge tortoises.

We have continued on our journey, and I keep forgetting to post on TD.com of our daily blog posts. We had a great day in Colombo Sri Lanka yesterday, so I wanted to link the blog for yesterday. Be sure to look through our previous stops. I think Airlie Beach or Sydney was my last post here.

Just a kind note. On June 6 in Lisbon Portugal. Our Lady Of Fatima is 13 minutes away. Beautiful Churches in Portugal. Miraculous holy water at Fatima. In case this is of interest.
Thank you for the suggestion, but we have been before. Now, a couple from Houma on The World Cruise have booked an excursion with Viator to visit Fatima.

Yes there is, but they will have to win 7/8 of the last 12, and not dropping any more midweek games would be a good idea. There isn't a ton of hope that this team can win that many games though.
Thank you for the update, appreciate it

Hey, I’m out of the country until July and have been trying to keep up with the baseball team. Appears wheels came off. Is there still a chance of making the NCAA playoffs? Thanks

Fourchon thanks for keeping us posted on this adventure. Excellent job on the blog also. I don't think i would have the patience with the internet on the ship especially now that I see how many pics you post in your blogs
Thank you......I appreciate it. Sadly, tonight is the last night in Sydney so the Wi-Fi will suck again starting tomorrow night. Back to 4 second videos and 4 hours to upload 20-25 photos.

When we get back to the ship (jumped off for a few extra days in Sydney) I will be sure to tell him this. He will get a good laugh from it.

Super nice man. At 85 his memory is still sharp. Couple of things he pointed out were the Jacob Hester five runs on 4th down against Florida. He spoke a great deal about the game and Tebow but said the calls by Coach Miles and the Hester performance he would always remember. Also said Tiger Stadium is the loudest stadium he has ever visited. Shared some funny stories about Danielson and said man you guys (LSU fans) hated us when CBS changed night games to the afternoon. I told him yeah I was one of them.
