Cool. We just built a brand new football only weight room and nutrition center, and are in the midst of building an athletic village which includes renovations to the Bright Complex (football operations). Also, we will have a brand new stadium (complete overhaul) by 2015.
So will we. I just don't understand how the OP can say A&M has better facilities when he knows nothing about State's
To clarify, I have no clue if ours is as good as yours.

I don't think they are any better. Their stadium is bigger, but after the renovation at Davis Wade, it won't be better.
As far as IPFs, weightrooms, etc, there isn't much separating the SEC schools right now.

Yes there is, we have way more trophies.

And I bring up recruiting because our class right now is better than all but one school in the West according to Rivals.
Your class looks very good, don't get me wrong...
but that is a very bad/inaccurate way of looking at recruiting. Your class is almost full, and it has little room to improve between now and Feb. It is not the second best in the west right now. It's just the fullest. This will change between now and NSD.
Let's look at average stars:
(Rivals)
2013
1) LSU #5
2) Florida #7
3) Alabama #9
4) Georgia #11
5) Auburn #15
6) Texas A&M #18
7) MSU #19
8) Mizzou #23
9) USCe #24
10) Vandy #27
11) Tenn #28
12) Arky #33
13) Ole Miss #34
This is a more accurate representation of where your likely to finish the year, which is still a good class, but it is not "top 5, about to compete with Bama and LSU" good. Your setting yourself up for major disappointment if that's how your looking at it.

You do realize our average stars ranking is lower because we have more 3 stars, NOT fewer 4 stars? It would be different if we had a class of similar size and still had a lower average star rating. But we don't. We have the largest class in the nation, which is going to mean more 3 stars in general. We are tied for 6th when it comes to the number of 4 stars. Our average stars ranking is a little bit lower because we've piled on a few more 3 stars ON TOP of our 4 stars than everyone else.
You mentioning average star ranking without mentioning why is misleading.

Honestly I feel it will be 3 years before we can realistically hope to be more than a spoiler.
Our roster is strong across the board except for the one place that makes (or breaks) an SEC team: the front seven. My guess is it will take @3 years to recruit and mature SEC caliber players in the front seven.

To refute the idea that your currently a recruiting powerhouse on the level of LSU and Bama and that will soon be competing on their level.
You are doing nothing here but trying to twist the quality of your class, based on size advantage. Average star rating is the average quality of prospect that you sign. Currently, it's not that great, with very little room for improvement.
Your reasoning tries to make us believe that your current class is better than Texas' class, since after all, your ranked #6, while they are #11. Fool's gold, since you've got 27 commits to their 14 commits, and average star rating makes it obvious that they will still finish with a much better class.

Msu...our class is not full yet.
The great thing about this entire thread is we get to see what happens on the field...in a month. Btw, the Ags are going to beat tha f-ck out of state.

Funny, coming from a team that's lost 12 of the last 13 against the current SEC members by an average of 15 ppg. Bookmarked.

It's really hard to say. The talent at A&M is pretty solid outside of depth in the front 7. Obviously that is a real problem in the SEC but it's not like A&M is devoid of athletes. We were still favored in 12 of 13 games last year, the fact we lost them is important but the fact that really only the OU game was a blowout is also important. The Big 12 may not have had the top end that the SEC had last season but it was a solid conference with almost every member being ranked at least part of the season. A&M also played Arkie in Non Conference.
The big factor is change. New coach. New QB. New Conference. It's hard to say if that means A&M makes a step forward or step back. A&M is very well positioned though to stay on top once they get there with the resources and recruiting base within 200 miles of campus. If A&M is winning it will be very hard to stop recruiting wise. If A&M is losing it will struggle. In many ways it is staggering that A&M can win as many recruiting battles as it is considering that they haven't won a conference title since '98 and yet are surrounded by teams that have NC's since that time.
The school that A&M most resembles in terms of culture and potential is Florida. Big state schools with a ton of money and strong academics. Once Florida started winning they were very hard to stop, though they are a bit down at the moment. Both schools also are perennial Top 10 Sears Cup schools that participate in all sports. A&M is at least as big of a sleeping giant that Florida was before Spurrier got going in the early '90s.

Excepting that aTm will be second fiddle in their state for the foreseeable future.

When Spurrier got to UF they were the #3 school in the SEC behind FSU and Miami.
They were in a WORSE position than A&M.

A close #3 is a better position than a distant #2.

Most likely true. But being second fiddle in TX is still better than being first in most states....

Sumlin is good, but people are putting way too much stock into a recruiting base.
I'll believe A&M can be a power when I see it.

This is not the Olympics. There is no finish line. If you truly want to become a giant, you need to surpass UT. Florida was in a better position to run their state than aTm is currently.
