Our 2013 class is for sure a step in the right direction, we just need to build on that. Things are looking good right now.

I agree but...

...you need to win...

...and you gotta hold that class together...

As someone who takes marginal interest in the goings on of A&M, I say let's not count chickens before they hatch.

Difference is you are not playing Baylor, Rice, Iowa State, kansas State and the rest of the Big 12 shite...now you have to square up against Bama, LSU, Arky, Auburn, MSU just to get to the ATL...and then you will lilely see a very tough Florida team, ....or Georgia, USCe, 10erC...all of whom have been good...very good over the years...

We just had a good class and now were about to pull in a even better one, the chickens have already hatched IMO. At the end of the day A&M is going to pull in a top 15 class which is great no matter what way you spin it.

Congrats on your Top 15 class...you are now in the same rarified air as Aubie....hopefully without the pay for play it takes for them to recruit well.....problem is Bama has had the #1 class 4 out of the last 5 years...our worst class was #5....LSU is recruiting at the same elite level...

I give you MSU and Auburn and Ole Miss this year....

It will most likely be top 10.

And I'm not sure what your point is with the Bama/LSU comment. Nobody ever said we consistently recruit at their level, even though we are close right now. My point was we are clearly recruiting better than the teams you said we would forever be fighting with in the "3rd tier".

A&M WILL have better athletic competition in the SEC, few will argue this. I think with the better competition comes better national exposure. I think the recruiting is benefiting from this and with the right coaching staff A&M will be competitive in this conference meaning good winning seasons are inevitable.

but how much better than State are they?

Both teams finished 7-6 last season, one conference was just slightly tougher than the other.

Did I ever compare A&M to Bama. No shite your going to have better recruiting classes winning two natty's in three years. I could give two shits if you have the number one class, we just pulled in a great class and are about to get a another one even though we have sucked. It will only get better when we win, so take your crimson logic somewhere else.

Don't be so butthurt....I agree with you that Aggie has a lot of advanatges that Auburn, Arky, and the Mississippi schools don't which bodes well for the long-term.....but you're still light years behind what Bama is doing, Florida has done, and LSU are currently doing.....that still has to translate into wins on gameday in a brutal conference in clutch games and your coaching staff is a huge question mark

I would say two-three years before were battling for top of the West, but will be good before that... or at least competitive.

And yes I agree A&M will most likely get their shite pushed in by LSU and Bama this year.

Rice?? Look, we all know the SEC is going to be a bit of a step up, but lets not pretend that A&M is coming from the WAC to the SEC. In the Big 12 era, we had Texas, OU, and Nebraska at the top of the league most years. K-State and Colorado were as strong as any in the late 90s to early 00s, and Tech and oSu being really strong in the mid to late 00s. Not to mention Mizzou having a few really good years mixed in there.

And the SEC still has Ole Miss, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, and Miss St (I know State has been better the past couple years).

Need to get 7-8 wins this year in the regular season. Going 7-5 and winning a bowl game in your first year in the SEC is not bad IMO. Need to keep momentum going. It is imperative that A&M reaches a bowl game this season.

How nice is your IPF or football operations center? State will have a brand new one in the coming months or so.

A&M has the standard SEC-type IPF and their new weight-room is SEC-standard.

Cool. We just built a brand new football only weight room and nutrition center, and are in the midst of building an athletic village which includes renovations to the Bright Complex (football operations). Also, we will have a brand new stadium (complete overhaul) by 2015.
